So, tell me, what is on your mind at the moment?

Surprisingly? It’s only a surprise for those who think enlightenment is still in its halls.

And it really is a part of how we work.

An open mind is generally an uninformed or undecided mind. That’s the brain falling out of Jack Sparrow’s head in the 2nd Pirates of the Carribean movie. We talk it up like its the best thing in the world, but a wholly open mind is open to Hitler. You have to have brakes along the way, a refusal of some sort.

The other end of the spectrum is at least thinking you’re informed (may even be well informed). You’re now at the end where you are being asked to question what you’ve already studied, tested, thought about, felt was right. Now your mind is like a fist that grips the brain too tight. Some of this becomes your identity, and now you’re being challenged on the things you’ve built yourself from. This is the area where if someone manages to undermined you, you’re going to attack the person and not defend your viewpoint…or worse. burn the heritc kind of thing.

The ones who deny that they get like that? Aliens form outserspace.

Now, somw people are self-aware, and thet curb this behavior, instead of excusing it.

Sometimes I wonder if Wattpad or Fictionpress or Critique Circle (etc) have any protection against data-scraping software. Probably not, at least not against any new AI-written / controlled software.

Anyway. Here are some AI news videos that make me curious, excited, concerned about the immediate future. May you live in interesting times.

Part of the reason I’m not concerned about AI is that we haven’t reached Quantum Computing yet.

@Akje Come and talk to me. Haven’t spoken to you in ages. How ya been?

A non-Quantum computer based AI will probably help fix that issue.* Nvidia’s new generations of AI-tuned GPUs make most contemporary gaming / production GPUs look prehistoric…At least from the perspective of my poor 3060 12GB…

Another major field of AI R&D is the reduction of system requirements for current and future AI software. In two years or so we could have GPT-4 or GPT-5 (or its counterparts) becoming smart phone compatible. Personalised Jarvis (Ironman) or Poe (Altered Carbon) or Joi (Bladerunner 2049) when?

how do we all feel about the Google Docs (Will?) Give Your Content to AI thing? I’ve spent the morning clearing out my files. I haven’t researched it so I don’t know how much weight it holds, but I needed an excuse to consolidate all my files anyways.

ZDNet says no!

However, they also say AI is helping cybercriminals steal all your stuff.

All I can say is: ヽ(゚Д゚)ノ

I’m figuring out how to write about a school play in a book? The play is about an hour long and the main characters are involved in it.

Oooh, going to write that part in play format? ¯\_(ﭢ)_/¯

I dunno how to? :joy:

Maybe this will help…?

Yeah, I can’t do 60 pages in the middle of the story though.

I meant just a few lines or whatever. In one of my books I did a whole chapter in play format, but it was a short chapter. A character says that the train trip reminded him of a play, and then the formatting goes into play formatting. ¯\_(ﭢ)_/¯

Ah, fair enough.

aha! well my google docs are empty now, nothing for the content stealing cybercriminals to take!

you know, because all the content stealing cybercriminals really wanted shitty snippets written by an 8th grader.
