My vote for the next Aussie election…

Went to my local Waterstones for the first time in a while and had a good laugh. They’ve relegated the SFF section to the very back of the shop, past a tunnel of children’s books and well away from the windows. It’s almost as if they want to hide us grubby little fantasists from the rest of the more respectable patrons and passersby.
Maybe they want all the tiktokers to spend more time in the store.
I got further in Watchmen.
I was only going to read one chapter tonight, but I ended up reading two.
Want to write, but when I get home to write I end up spending most of that time on Youtube
He is from the Solomon Islands, I bet
This morning I read a random book review from 2017 that suggested a Native author didn’t consider Native children in her children’s book with a Native child character… because the book is about the loss of a parent and that might upset Native children who have experienced loss of a parent.
That’s it, that’s as deep as it goes. Not that the book was culturally insensitive in any way. Not that it handled the subject matter in a manner too blunt or graphic for a child. Just that a child might be inadvertently traumatized (traumatized) by an age-appropriate exploration of a difficult topic.
The review is so old, I don’t think it’ll be worth replying to (and I don’t have the energy to argue with someone who failed reading comprehension on a book meant for 8-year-olds). But I’ve been annoyed about it for the past hour so I’m inflicting my thoughts about it on you all to get it out of my system.
I have honestly no idea, lol.
I am making a priority list
I’m sad.

i have an eyebrow piercing now so yay
So… Wolf Hall. I’m getting serious fomo not watching it. The reviews are stunning, and I’m sure I’m gonna be hearing a lot more abt it from people. I promised myself I’d read all the books first before watching it. How fast to read a ~2000 page trilogy??
I didn’t mean to record an almost two-hour long video, but the article was actually good enough to add things on rather than criticize and give up on.
3.5/5

Did I ever tell you the story of when I dropped Ultra Ego Vegeta into a discord channel dedicated to fictional crushes.
667 pages a book? like 3 days a book, 3 books; 9 days. plus some brain break time in between each book so, I think you could do it in 2 weeks.
@Churro This is why I compared your work to Regular Show.
