Sometimes I need to jot down my crazy ideas!

I just had another crazy idea for writing. The only gripe is that the idea that I have makes absolutely no sense (which shouldn’t be a problem to me so why would I say that.) I just want to do this because I am allowed to do whatever I want with my story and this is something that I can always see if it works for me. If it doesn’t ,then I wasn’t for me.

The idea is to rewrite the earlier chapters of my current novel while still writing the same story. I was thinking about this so hard because I would rather do this than rewrite the whole entire thing (even though I will regardless) than edit the story.

The story is going on its 30th chapter. I am 30 chapters in and the story is a bit of a mess and I love that but I want the early chapters to be much better. To add things and to take things out of the story before I reach the finish line.

That is all I could say about that.

Thought and feelings on writing my own crazy ideas!?

Bump.

The crazier thing is that it’s hard enough to live one life, so how do people live multiple at the same time???
Don’t worry if your story is messy at first, that is what editing is for and real life is never exactly straightforward.

Are you saying that it is alright for me to do whatever to my own story?

Trust your own judgements before anything else. It is your story, so do whatever you want.

This is what I’m doing at the moment too. Fact is, after I get too many chapters in I forget exactly what happened in the beginning, and I need to go back and read what I’ve already written to make sure it makes sense with what I’m writing now. __〆(..)

It’s a catch-22. Pantsers learn things about their story by dwelling in it, and so some things for the first chapter(s) don’t exist until close to the end.

If it’s a quick fix, I’ll go back in and add it pretty much immediately. If it’s slogging work, I usually won’t until either: a. 0 draft is done or b. I put it aside for months and the rewrite is a refresher for the story.

It’s funny because nowadays I’m considering myself a plantser than a pantser.

Though I get what you are trying to say.

Write what you want to write! I’ve found in the past with my writing that when I write for myself, I get further and more interest than when I try to write for others (generally I then get bored and lose motivation). I always think your writing is at your best when you’re enjoying it, and people can sense that

It’s a very good idea to jot down ur ideas, it’s why when working more than 7 hours at work, I bring my laptop. I used to do the same in college, but it can be rambles without context. I do all my writing pantsing, and I find it freeing not to have to plan and just live in the moment, letting the story come forth naturally, letting the audience see the story come too, as it comes to me
