Summary
“Hey! You must be the travelers I’ve been hearing so much about.” The man fell into step beside them, and Athilis put a hand on her sword in warning.
“What exactly have you been hearing about us?” Pearlgrass asked, squinting.
“That you’re a pair of seasoned adventurers with some kind of beautiful magical creature following you.” The man said, unphased.
That sounded right on the border of flattery. Athilis felt her suspicions rise.
“My name is Dior. And you lovely folks are Athilis, Pearlgrass and Brett.” he followed up.
Athilis nodded.
“You need something from us?” she asked.
“Indeed! I’d like to document your travels in our lands.” Dior said, smiling as if nosily tracking them were normal.
Athilis didn’t like the sound of an unknown stranger following them around. He knew the lands much better than they did, and he probably had companions around as well.
It certainly wouldn’t be easy for them to lose him on the open hills, though. And if he was planning to rob them, he wouldn’t leave of his own volition.
