New one: I did research of Jeffery Dahmer and “real life clown murderer” (John Wayne Gacy, who’s name I couldn’t remember).
Long story short I wanted to make a joke like “Why did you agree to visit a total stranger?! He could be the 2010’s John Wayne Gacy for all you know!” and was trying to see if he would be accurate in that statement.

I look like I’m trying to learn to speak latin by looking up random words. Latin still confuses me.
I used a cheat code for my main speaking character… just googled popular Latin phrases and book, done xD.

if anyone’s wondering about the last four, I’m trying to write mild cursing for my characters (as in “shoot” instead of “s–t”) but the curse words I know are more vulgar

Yeah, I did similar searches a few months ago. How fencing was organized, kind of clothing, organisation, competition, and if there was any overlap between modern fencing and sword fighting (and except for sticking pointy ends in your opponents there’s little). Still, it helped me to work out a few chapters.
I googled the history of sandpaper and the history of couches. Both are quite a bit older than I’d expected xD
