Names should mean something!
I was trying to figure out distances and what kind of people hang out in Dealy Plaza today.

I think the same about names. I usually look up all my character names and see if they fit and they usually do, so like yay for my good luck, haha.
And cool
.
What’s the difference between crack and meth?
Long story short there’s a joke in something I’m writing about a girls house being a former crack den, with someone saying “we have to paint the walls, almost looked like someone cooked meth” and the guy who’s been living in the neighborhood longer than she has says “meth actually.” before the typical “what?” “what?”
I just wanted to see the actual difference.
Yeah differences like that are definitely Google situations lol.
All of these!
It’s time consumimg for sure
So time consuming!
… But worth it if you like accuracy XD.
True! I actually meant the process of becoming a priest is. I had two friends who did it.
Oooo, OK that’s cool
. Now I wanna pick their brains
.
This is so standard to me haha. I remember when I first started on Wattpad at like 15 my mom looked on my laptop and had to sit me down and ask why 6 of my bookmarks were to Baby Naming sites
Nameberry and Behind the Name are still my go-to’s ![]()
Please explain this hahaha
Hahaha been there ![]()
So I’ll list the ones that I think are most likely to get me arrested ![]()
• Are there any secret entrances into Buckingham Palace?
• What types of drugs can you mix with Barbiturates (had to ask my nurse mother this because Google wouldn’t help me for obvious reasons)
• A list of serious crimes (for a dark Alice in Wonderland spinoff, this also led to a search about different degrees of arsony)
• Shoe sizes of famous mobsters (this one i probably shouldn’t explain…)
• Do twins feel shared pain? (Vividly remember googling this when I was 13
)
• What do you call someone with black hair? (Seriously! Blonde, Ginger, what do you call them?!)
• How to blow up a yacht (Also for the Alice in Wonderland book. There was a lot of blowing up involved in that one)
Oh also searched a lot about which states had the death penalty and such (I write a lot of mystery and action, swear I’m not just a crazy person)
I’mma have to go look at these sites!
I needed to know more about the origins, how native Americans (specifically the Algonquins saw them)… And find ways to kill them - which like was harder to find a solid answer for than you’d think. ![]()
You’re now on a government watch list
.
My mom’s an ex narcotics detective and like I’ll ask her questions and she’ll be like - “Um, why?
”
EXPLAIN! ![]()
I probably did the same
.
Brunette? XD
Best comment! ![]()
Still on a government watch list
.
Seriously recommend them. Nameberry is great cus it lists suggested Nicknames as well as the name meaning. And Behind the Name is great for the origins of names and deeper meanings.
This is super cool! I grew up in a very small town in Northern Canada and always loved learning about the local Nation as our town shared the area with a people known as Haisla. There were quite a few Haisla natives that wrote supernatural books that were super interesting and steeped in their superstitions and beliefs
crazy cool
Oh yeah, I legit just moved to Scotland too so their like “She’s going to strike soon” ![]()
That is such a cool fricken job!!!
Never ![]()
But thats for brown!!! What do you call people with black hair! Like I looked it up again and yeah it says brunette or noirette which is just the French word for black followed by -ette which like dude ![]()
Their fears may be warranted ![]()
I love story time with her lol.
Now I’mma have to go Google myself XD.
Hmm…reading back over the last few responses, the history of the lunchbox suddenly doesn’t seem so strange anymore…
Also, T – I want story time with your mom, too!!
LOL!!! XD
i’ll tell you some good ones if we can ever nail down a date ![]()
My latest were:
If it’s English, should it be New England’s or New English… I wasn’t even asking why.
Some stuff on English country dances, including waltz’ introduction. lol.
And history of orangeries/conservatories.
Luckily, it’s weird, but not dangerous… for at least the last 150 years.
Okay I’ve got a new one to add as of literally just now. So my mc’s love interest is a Soviet Cosmonaut and I’ve rented an amazing book on the soviets training process and how they picked the candidates for the first mission because I want my guy to be like a trainee. So my big thing is I wanna look up how old these guys were when they first joined the soviet space program and I’m reading this one line in the book that says “there was a maximum age limit of 30 and a maximum height of 170cm”, I’m Canadian and so I translate this into feet and that is 5’5!!!
Like I know it was the 50s and the rockets were small but like Yuri Gagarin (first man in space) was 5’2! There’s nothing wrong with short guys but I’m a 5’11 girl and like I’m just picturing my Russian love interest being 5’2 and I’m dead
like in my mind he was gonna be at least 5’10 but nope, poor guy isn’t gonna fit in a rocket
I mean I hate the stigma in romance books that the guy has to be this 6’4 Adonis but like never thought he was 5’2 in photos and now my mind is blown.
i had to google what the first thing was xD
