We’d make decent biodiesel, too.
What the… I’m scared ![]()
Oh, I’ve got one.
I’ve known the phrase “Hoisted by his own petard” since I was a kid, but never knew the source or the original meaning. Most who know it know it means you screwed yourself over by your own machinations.
Well…
"Hoist with his own petard " is a phrase from a speech in William Shakespeare’s play Hamlet that has become proverbial. The phrase’s meaning is that a bomb-maker is blown (“hoisted”) off the ground by his own bomb (“petard”), and indicates an ironic reversal or poetic justice.[1]
Occasionally, I forget how old bombs are.
Oof! That’s a bad day xD.

It’s nature is nurtured. lol
But yeah, I don’t want to go sky high.
“A modest proposal” 2023 take
I was having a full on conversation with my friend on a crowded bus while I was trying to sort out the logistics too—
But it’s fine!! Classic case of woman driven insane by the mountains trying to make candles out of people so she can read the stars who just happened to write a book about her process!!
Someone def made sure to get your description, haha.
…I read that she needs more friends… To either keep her sane or to make candles out of, your choice ![]()
Nothing new under the sun, even when it is innovative.
Oh my, so many really sus things. My genre of choice, and my absolute comfort zone, is crime and mystery.
So, obviously, I’ve had to research many, many different ways of killing a human, how effective it is, whether it leaves any traces and if it’s possible to get away with it. I’m 100% on some sort of government watch list but that’s the price we pay to stay true to our craft.
I love how you just embraced the watch list, haha. Crime is so hard to write without knowing anything - it wouldn’t be true to itself then, I think.

Though I’m not sure that will ultimately stay in the story.
Also I’ve still got a Chrome tab open with a study on post-mortem investigation of cocaine use
Apparently testing hair is the way to go, though I’m not sure for how long after death it’s still possible. I’m gonna say for as (reasonably) long as the plot needs it ![]()
i’ve been doing a lot of TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) research for my book and at the same time deadly combos of TCM. because in this kind of books people are always poisoning people and causing miscarriages or whatever. also i’ve been looking up things in every day life (in 18th century China) that could kill you, like peach pits or raw cashews. just a lot about poisoning people.
until you get some scientist reading your story and pointing out all the holes, haha
I thought someone had to eat a ton of those to get sick - it’s cyanide, isn’t it?
…I love cashews. ![]()
My two most recent: can you walk from France to Germany, and 190 hours converted to days.
for a story within a fantasy world but I’m weird and wanted to make it the same distance as France and Germany-
come on math xD
I would assume so - I don’t think there’s any water breaking them up last I looked at a map, but who knows XD.
lol raw cashews aren’t really raw cashews. A freshly picked cashew can kill you. by the time its in a can at the grocery store, its been through a lot, which is probably why its so expensive.
also yes, stone fruit pits, like in peaches, can contain small amounts of cyanide but if you dried and grated them and mixed them in with an already bitter medicine, you could get away with killing someone over a long period of time. its a convoluted plan but reasonable, which is what i’m aiming for.
