It’s that stringy part.

It’s that stringy part.
I swore that was just a vein XD
There’s tissue covering it and it’s, you know, stringy and slimy…
I won’t go on XD I’ll be giving you nightmares or daymares or something.
Vein/artery for blood, nerves for connection to the brain, protective tissue because nerves are sensitive. It should have some anchoring ligaments, but that wouldn’t necessarily be the back of the eye, as it’s the parts that attatch to muscles and bones so you can move your eyeballs.
nah… just maybe have an itchy eye all of a sudden lol
the more you know!
girl that’s the optic nerve! the sclera is just the white goopy part. although it do have sclera on it, judging by these google pictures.
that’s the word I was looking for! I was like isn’t it the white part XD I only know any of this because of a weird eye biology rabbit hole I went down for eye surgery xD
u gettin ur eyeballs surgeried? ![]()
oh it already happened like last summer. both eyes got scraped… surgically - enjoy that mental visual of not being able to sleep while you repeatedly get poked. XD
i don’t need a mental image, i had my eyeballs surgeried a few years ago XD
mmm, speculums ![]()
exactly that thought! the recovery honestly sucked more than the surgery for me tho.all that really did was solidify that I will never get lasik XD
upside - the surgery wasn’t to make my vision better but it actually did as a side effect - not greatly but enough that one eye went from negative to 20/20 with glasses and the other just got a tad better… win? XD
that’s what I had! And I was a terrible patient! but it worked anyhow, and it just burned for like a day after and i had to wear sunglasses outside even at night for a bit.
good upside ![]()
I figured that’s what you had done since there’s not many reasons why one would willingly tempt fate like that one Final Destination movie lol. I think of my glasses as an accessory and I’m so used to them now that I think I look weird without them so XD I choose death in the zombie apocalypse the moment my glasses break or my prescription changes XD. I also wouldn’t want to go back in for the lasik touchup thing since I heard you may have to get it more than once because it wears off or something? that happened to my coworker’s husband recently. I’m also scared after hearing of people who got the surgery and left with some other syndrome thing that’s like infinite pain that people report is literal hell and they just can’t deal with.
the thing I liked about the eye surgery is that I only needed to wear the contact for 2-7 days and I wasn’t as sensitive to light after about 1 days, so yay for eyes healing fast… even tho they both basically took the full 7 to heal >.>
I did hate the eyepatch I had to wear at night tho to not rub my eye on my pillow!
never watched that
old campy horror is Not my fave subgenre
i still accessorize with glasses! I also think i look weird without them, but now i can have a bunch of different styles for way cheaper than prescription glasses, and i can wear sunglasses! I have raincloud ones, and flame ones, and dragonfly wing ones, in all different colours. it’s so fun.
rip yeah after 40 it kind of expires but that’s just because people’s eyes generally start getting worse after 40 anyways.
.-.
that… i think is a risk with any surgery isn’t it?
speedyheal ![]()
oh fancy pirate. i think an eyepatch would be nice for blocking out light in the morning. nice long uninterupted sleeps
it’s so fun tho xD
fun! I just tend to stick with all black since it matches everything. my latest pair is black with tortoiseshell brown around the top rim and gold on the bottom… I get upset when I have to mix the metals tho lol my next pair will probably be all black again.
eek!
it is but like who wants to come off surgery and have pain that never goes away forever and ever like you’re already in pain ![]()
sounds like a Pokemon move!
nah it was a clear one that I only had to wear to bed because if I rubbed my eye then I’d basically screw up the surgery and have do it again. but I honestly slept most of those 2 weeks from the meds I was on and because I knew sleep would help me heal faster and because I couldn’t stare at screens or bright lights or strain my eyes reading or coloring so what else was there to do… tho I did play sims with one eye closed for days because I couldn’t use it lol. the doc said don’t look at screens and I said bet XD. my fiancé had to take care of the pets because I couldn’t risk their cage stuff getting in my eye because of infection and my mom stayed for the week to take care of me while he was at work. I couldn’t go outside because of the sunlight and I couldn’t see because I couldn’t wear my glasses after surgery and my sight is already bad… fun times XD
Yeah, I know. I didn’t want to show the really horrifying images
When you yoink an eye out, in horror manga, everything looks all stringy at first, and then the goopy part splashes around. I guess I could say the optic nerve dangled, but idk if anyone can really picture that. I decided it was too much to include.
And it’s for a magic realism story, so do I really have to focus on how eyeballs look yoinked out? idk, maybe not.
XD this but hey it’s your story, do what you want XD
Actually I just remembered it was also for my fantasy story because an Ilvagi monster rips out the eye of a Kattaluna for her punishment and uh, eats it. I thought I could really focus on the horror, but the visual of an eye getting ripped out is probably enough ![]()
the visual of an eye, lol
doing a lot of eye things today ![]()
