This is becoming annoying.

I can’t decide what is a good way for my Naivin siblings’ parents to die. Like do they die in some car crash or get secretly poisoned by a member of their imperial court?

I am very tempted to do both. I can have it where even though he is royalty, Tavian drives himself and Solana from a fancy night out back home. However, they were poisoned at the restaurant by someone posing as the waiter. The poison didn’t kick in until after Tavian started driving.

I could do that. Hmm…decisions.

What if it was a poison that wasn’t meant to kill, just warn or make it easier to trap the drugged people, but because they weren’t caught before they drove, this is impaired driving?

The poison drugged them then when that started driving, they ended up getting killed in the car crash, right? Is that what you are saying? Am I mistaken or not at all?

That sounds like a great idea.

I was a bit caught up in mom’s visit, but I wrote a bit. The story now sits at 40.6K words and I cut the last bit into two, covering We’d and Sat posting. It’s making pennies, but because people do pay for it, I feel obliged to finish it. I am not sure if it gets to 50K words, but it never was a goal, just an ending. Then I will be taking time off until November, though I might do planning, notes and research, plus editing. I am really looking forward to it.

Here’s a recent end of chapter of a first draft I wrote that I like:

Context: the forest is burning

Before she could drift away, a raindrop hit her face. Then another and another. She breathed out and let herself relax. A breeze passed over her body as if the forest, too, was sighing in relief.

Wrote 6500 words in 5 hours. It’s the most I’ve done in a while.

Yes. Like, the whole point wasn’t to kill them, but the moment they get behind the wheel, this became Regicide.

Happens to this day. I dislike drinking in public without my spouse being sober for a reason.

Still editing Without Parole. I didn’t get much farther than the 18k from before because I was stuck on this one chapter. Still doesn’t feel quite right to me. I know it’s a second draft, and I should move on, but it’s haaard lol :weary: It bothers me.

Off Topic: I actually do miss reading physical manga, but man, where would I even start? One Piece is too long, and I am content with reading it digitally. And some manga is just better if I watch the anime I suppose. Like damn, which manga do I read that is Shounen or Seinen and amazing?

On Topic: Forget three stories, I refuse to give myself a massive headache like that. I am going to strive to focus on only two for the time being.

There is work to be done.
I need to go back to Barnes & Noble to select which manga and webtoon I want to purchase for my birthday in December.

Big win! Never in my life did I think I would be co-owning a queer bookshop! :scream:

So to preface… for almost two years now I’ve been involved in a queer collective (of activists, artists, businesses, students) in my city and we’ve been promoting culture and creating spaces for queer people. Our biggest undertaking so far has been getting a neighbourhood officially recognised as the queer district in our city.

As part of the collective, among other things (I’m literally one of five queer scholars who’s done research into queer life in this city), I’ve been involved in a co-operative that supports businesses run by queer people.

So, when back in March this little online bookshop proposal came to us for funding, I knew I had to be part of it. Historically, we’ve had at least one radical/queer bookstore in the city starting from the 60s up until 2004/5. To start one again would be so important and so useful. So we’ve been working for a while to get it running. We’ve had stalls in major Pride festivals around the region over the summer.

And now on Saturday, we’re finally opening a physical store in the queer district! It’s gonna be bookshop and a space for queer writers to work and share their projects! :rainbow:
