I don’t know if it’s worth it to create a website. Discord is free.
The only problem is that some writers don’t want to join discord. Can’t force them.
I think using something like Instagram for public announcements, etc, would be a good substitute.
I just joined a new writing server that’s promising. Let’s hope it holds up.
Yeah, that was my thinking too. I figured it might be cool to give people a place to go that isn’t Discord, but we’ll see. Maybe one day if I get the money and time. I would love to build a writing community.
I just started Project Truth’s chapter 1, part 0! It was a nice start.
I am just going with the flow with this story. I am going to try not to outline too much, maybe jot down something, but I can outline more so in the first and second drafts.
I recently started working on my fantasy world from many years ago. The story has been on my mind a lot recently. I want to turn the world into a D&D campaign, and write the series. I am really excited to immerse back into the world, little by little, while I still work on my mystery series.
Ha! I was able to stick in a cameo of a character from The Last Princess of Atlia, as well as a place name, and have a very interesting crossover moment
I’m starting (hopefully) on THE MOON KINGDOM today. While the title is a placeholder at this point, I’m convinced I won’t get any writing done today. At all!
Yet, I desperately want to. Maybe I just need to sit down, with headphones on, music and just write? The general idea is still there, so it should be okay, right?
I need motivation to focus on one project. How do I do that? I have too many on the go at the moment. I keep coming up with ideas, starting them and leaving them. Even though they’re all under the Churroverse. What do I even do anymore? How do I just focus and write and finish one idea? I have idea son how they’re gonna end etc. I want to finish one.
Is there a chronological order they can go into? Maybe you could organize the ideas somehow, perhaps give each character/set of characters their own stand alone or series. Doing a timeline would help figure out which one to prioritize and which ones can wait.
You just need to believe strongly in the message of the story. If you’re losing interest, then maybe come up with a better message and themes…? ¯\_(ﭢ)_/¯
netflix asked me if i wanted to “relive my favourite moments” and i fully thought it was going to put me on blast with a slideshow of all the dramatic moments i’ve replayed 50 times to soak into my lentil brain for later writing.
but no, netflix just wanted me to finish watching White Chicks.
Wrote a passage today. It’s not long. Just setting out the scene. Read it back this afternoon and I want to scrap it all but one word: Flying.
I’m frustrated. I can’t find the right words or my authorial voice for this story. I’ve been writing little scenes over the past year for this story but nothing feels right. It’s making me grumpy.
