So, the way it looks for me on Radsih, I can make about $10 for writing a book w/o promo and if it’s not fantasy (fantasy makes near 0). If I could write the whole book in an hour, it would be minimal wage.

that’s definitely a huge part of it. Half the time I’m staring at the page/screen annoyed by the complete lack of reason or logic. I understand being emotionally distressed causes people to be unreasonable and illogical but it’s never played as that, it’s always “and so they got rid of the person who didn’t psychically know they were upset and drop everything to hold them, and their life was millions better for it”. Like no it wasn’t, grow up.

and to be honest it pokes at my own feelings of inadequecy quite a bit ngl :joy:

Man is not rational. The Enlightenment was something to strive for, but we weren’t going to fully attain a reasoned society, ever.

So, it always pulls at the back of the mind, either with the “what a dumbass” or “oh, shit, that’s me!”

that’s fair. i don’t expect characters to be reasonable about their emotions 100% of the time, i just wish that more of them would acknowledge at some point after the unreasonableness that it was in fact unreasonable. hindsight and all that.

That is story growth. Stories that don’t have that aren’t considered well written, pretty often.

I figured out something for my third story.

It’s about two siblings from a summoner clan that no longer exist. These two siblings have nowhere to go due to being summoners in a world that has rejected them. Their father abandoned them, and mother is dead, and their clan is gone, yet these two siblings have to figure out how to survive in a world that doesn’t want them and unravel the mystery behind why their clan was wiped out.

They will need to return back home to where their clan lives and see what is really going on.

Personally, I love it. A brother and sister trying to return back to their home to unlock the answers of how their clan died while they were away and other secrets that are hidden.

Yippee!

Glad you like it. It’s always great to start with a premise that speaks to you.
