I finally got past my block in my prequel. Not totally thrilled with it, but it’s better than a blank page. At 10k words with that. Without Parole second draft editing still… on hold.

I got stuck on chapter 43 for awhile, but figured out how to change that and move forward. Now I’m on the next chapter where an unhinged woman is wandering through a dead patient’s scary house at midnight, when she hears noises in the dark house. She’s terrified it’s the creepy stalker dude she just ran away from at a bar, so this should be easy to write. It’s the season for creepy stories and scary people, but I’m too happy to write it at the moment. Argh! So I’m eating M&M’s and scrolling through writing videos on YouTube instead. (♯ᴖ.ლ)

I don’t know playwriting! It’s a whole other beast! I haven’t read many plays — certainly not postmodern/ contemporary stuff… and I haven’t watched a play in almost a year now gahhh
A friend’s planning a writing retreat to an abbey in middle of nowhere. I’m tempted to disappear for a month this winter and live with monks in self-imposed exile, live my Hildegard von Bingen fantasy.

Been doing a lot of revision and clean up of ebook and paperback files for my BL Scifi saga. A lot of prep work for my new strategy. I felt if I do a lot of ground work now, I can focus on making new content in the new year without too much fuss.

the older i get, the more i resent the “you weren’t there” trope (as in ‘i needed help and you weren’t there because you have responsibilities that aren’t me and now i’m angry/hurt/ect.’)

Well, the thing is that it went from legit abandonments to narcissist entitlement so quickly without ever being questioned–irl, not just in novels. There isn’t a strong sense of being “in the right” while upset or showing that the other side may be right while you’re feelings are hurt.
