I still need to jot down notes for chapters 1-12 of Red Reign as I reread. Because things are staying, going away, or changing for good. Then after I am done with that. I am going to finish chapter 13 so that I can move on. I was a bit stuck on the chapter on what to do exactly. That’s what happens when you go with your gut and do little to no actual planning. Oh well, I was too in the zone went with the flow too much. Nothing left to do but continue writing.
i would get so much more work done if my cat didn’t seize the opportunity to sleep on top of me every time i laid down for 2 seconds. ten minute nap? no, thirty minute cuddle.

There are sites like Critique Circle or Scribophile where you have to give feedback on other people’s books in order to get feedback on yours, but otherwise I don’t know any site where you’re guaranteed to get reads these days. ¯\_(ﭢ)_/¯
Does ANYBODY get like this when it comes to writing their story?
I was on a roll with Red Reign, hit a roadblock of some sorts on chapter 13, started getting ideas for changing the story to fit my needs, decided to jot down some ideas for the changes, and start contemplating on whether or not I should finish chapter 13 of the first draft when I am full of changes.
Does this happen to anyone out there?
I am curious.
Yes, all the time. I usually do a lot of this when outlining and during maybe the first 20K words. By 30K I usually have the start firmed, apart from rewriting first chapter million times. For Lone Werewolf, I rewrote Act 1 three or so times with huge imput from beta readers. I don’t think I ever asked for so much input for any other book. Usually, I have a very solid idea what I want. Then it’s just my writing chops being tested to see what eventually comes out.
I have the novel at over 30K and I just now want to make changes.
I could finish the first draft, but the changes and the new ideas will irk my nerves.
I was half falling asleep writing today’s 3000 something words…
…because Sovanna wanted to bury her father’s decapitated head and wanted to dig and the only tools were some rocks by the lake. So, it took a while. Definitely long enough for her to do some good contemplation and thinking with good memories and such. And a winged creature and her have an argument.
He is just so tired and hungry (not slept for three days, not eaten for almost that much) and she’s going to make him help her to dig a grave into the hard soil with a rock??? In the afternoon sun??? Are you kidding me???
So, I had fun with that.
It’s interesting writing this winged creature because he’s lying to her about his reason to be there. He has to build trust with her for his own personal reasons and even though he refuses to do things for her at first, he always relents despite not having much energy. But he wasn’t planning on being super tired and starved when he met her
