Struggling Writers’ Daily Den: rant, share, complain, ask, daily progress thing (Part 2)

I’ve been liking it a lot so far. I’m still at the beginning pages as I haven’t found much time since my last day off to read, so I’m excited to see what comes next.

I have a binder full of lined blank paper that I did some writing in barely, plenty of notebooks that have been barely touched, and books that I barely read.

I starting to wonder why I take physical notes when I prefer typing on a
computer so much more whether to take notes or something else.

Handwriting has its pros and cons. But I lean more towards the cons, because I physically can’t stand taking notes by hand.

So, what do I do? Learn to like handwriting notes and suck it up or try find a healthy balance of both note taking and digital note taking?

I mean I hate wasting paper in a sense. All those notebooks that I wanted; I BARELY write in them. And I don’t know when I will ever write in them.

Have you read your rival’s works yet?

Just settling in to write today. A late start, but I jotted some notes on the epiphany I had for my Guardian Demon, which will make the main romance in it more vibrant and easier to spot. Also, less characters, and less characters is always a win.

Faust is a prince and a necromancer who hates touching corpses along with other dead things and gets freaked out by zombies.

I like where this is going… :smirk:

NOTE: He is also a alchemist which he finds easier to tolerate more than necromancy anyway.

At least he isn’t a werewolf with a pathological fear of dogs and their reletives.

Okay, today is going to be a slow, struggling day. I will need to hold my horses and write with patience. This chapter is complicated with a large fighting scene, new characters and notionally charged. And the main can only watch…

Since I’ve made so many changes and whatnot, I am going to state what the stories are about right here. They all are set in the world of Llyria but different timelines and alternate universes. I love how different they all are.

Heretics: The Red Ghosts: Alphonse is a Knight searching for two humanoid creatures that is causing widespread panic in different parts of the continent, but as he searches for them his curiosity and need for answers grows and comes before his duties.

The Mage Lord: Machina Reborn: An arrogant yet extremely powerful high ranked Mage dies and is reincarnated as a human android who is a servant to a low ranked Mage and desires to not only save his clan but become a Mage Lord once more.

The Breakers: Witch of Arcane Sins: A prince who is also both a Necromancer and Alchemist combines both powers and creates a homunculus that houses the soul of an absurdly powerful ancient witch that brought forth calamity to the world eons ago

Question for anybody: What would make you either cry happy tears or jump for pure joy OR have a real cheesy smile?

I wrote “cooncooned” and couldn’t figure out why it was wrong for a minute because what my brain saw was “cocooned”.

When my characters who actually do like each other are arguing with each other and don’t want to admit they like each other and it’s super obvious.

I don’t know if it’s alright to ask for feedback/advice here, so i guess this is asking for permission (?)

Idk, I’m apparently still traumatized from the strict thread rules of the old wp forums lol

btw, it’s feedback for a crude/brief description/blurb of a novel.

Ok, here’s the description:

In the island city of D’Matiwak, children begin to disappear. Jae Perez suddenly finds himself on an adventure to find these children when his friends fall victim to these strange missing children cases.

This is supposed to be dark fantasy. I guess I should add more to the desc, but I just want to know if it’s appealing at all.

Oh, btw, its title for now is “The Missing Children of D’Matiwak”

D’Matiwak is a fictional city
