I attempted to get into an advanced creative writing course at my college, hosted by a certain author you may or may not know of. I got rejected, perhaps due to lack of space, or perhaps due to lack of skill.

Maybe they rejected you because of a technicality? It says it’s 15 pages…was that the assignment? Because it’s really only 8 pages long. ¯\_(ﭢ)_/¯

As someone who recently graduated, it’s probably due to lack of space or you haven’t completed a prerequisite course yet. I doubt they’ll be looking at individual pieces and rejecting individuals based on those pieces.
I’ve attempted to get into different higher-level liberal arts classes and some of them fill up quickly. I won’t be surprised if it’s the same in your case.
