I will never stop writing stories in Alagossia, but there are some stories that cannot do well in Alagossia. I mean I can alter it to fit it, but honestly this is giving me a bit of a challenge when it comes to writing.
I have two projects that were meant for the Alagossia-verse, it does not. These stories are better on another fictional planet or Earth. I have been pondering it, but I think I need a second planet that is more science-fantasy than Alagossia. Magic is more science based on this soon to be second planet.
Project Venomous is an urban fantasy set on Earth set in either the year 2024 or 2025. Yet Project Chaos is another story that can take place on Earth, post apocalyptic Earth. Project Bloodline is a novel project that can happen on my second planet, along with Red Reign (Red Reign can tie in greatly with Project Bloodline).
I never truly gave up on Red Reign, but I do know which world is the back drop for the story, because Alagossia is not it. Thereās hope, I am still pushing to the side till hope glimmers and shines on that day.
The second planet is in the works. I just need to jot down notes on what I want this second planet to have differently than Alagossia. So, the wheels are turning in my mind.
Project Succession is an Alagossia story. Any story dealing with the Saints or Knights is going to be focused in Alagossia.
So, my 2025 into 2026 goal is to write novels (stand alone or series) away from Alagossia. I need to get out of my comfort zone to write something on Earth or my second fictional planet.
I had ideas for Arillion, but they seemed more better placed in other books, and there they now live.
While I do have plans for an extensive world built tales from Arillion and beyond itās borders and history long forgottenā¦ I have āCore Talesā that do not fit in the narrative of Arillion at all, even though they were devised from ideas for that world, and that which I wroteā¦
Itās okay to sample differing Genres with ideas from what your focussed on at this time, and I would advise you to do so, fully.
I agree. I believe that my other projects are built for other worlds. Project Succession is purely an Alagossia-verse novel series. The other projects will work much better outside of Alagossia. I love my Alagossia, but I genuinely believe that not every story idea fits it.
And it will notā¦ I have such a collection of ideas that fit nothing Iām working on in the background aside from The Endurlonā¦ They may never be used, but I feel that I will try to put them into āSingle Chapter Talesā of sorts, just to put them down in ernest and for fun.
Exactly. Iāve been pondering it a bit.
I truly donāt believe that my other projects are great for Alagossia. There are other worlds that it can do great in.
So, I will do other stories set in other places besides Alagossia. Iāve been desperately trying to understand a good place for Project Venomous and Project Chaos along with Project Bloodline with Red Reign.
Now, I have places besides Alagossia.
I tossed names in my head for my second planet, two basic ones latch onto me.
I was so against doing another planet or anything unrelated to Alagossia, that I sent myself in a weird spiral. I wanted Alagossia to be the focus for EVERY story idea, that was a challenge that I struggled figuring out for the longest.
I am learning that not every story idea can fit into Alagossia. It will throw off what the goal is for the world overall. So, I am glad I am realizing this because it was bothering me for months, maybe years.
That is fineā¦ We as writers always do such things.
Just as I am also writing other books for Arillion, of the elder days, I see other concepts that would do better in another setting and worldā¦ That is just imaginationā¦ A gift as it would seem.
Yeah. The same with Project Venomous and Project Chaos! I wanted to focus on a part of Alagossia that, thinking about it, lacks sense in the world overall.
Project Bloodline and Red Reign need to work in a setting that leans heavily into a science-fiction with some magic type of world.
Imagination is a wonderful gift and curse sometimes.
