Everyone’s different in many ways. So, to think that nobody and I mean nobody isn’t going to like your novel is pretty wild. You’ll always love your story and it will show. But some random person or random group of people will also love your story idea as well.
It doesn’t matter if you disagree with that, there’s something out there for somebody. Take notice of that and put it to good use. Because in the end, someone will enjoy your story no matter what you may think. Sure it’s scary to put yourself out there and sure it is scary to think that there are people who won’t enjoy what you’ve written. Who cares about the people who won’t enjoy your work. You love it and others will love it as well. Focus on yourself and the people who will like it. Even if one to two people like it, it’s way better than zero.
Like I’ve stated there is something for someone and your story might be that something.
You’ll never know that until you see it through till the end. I might sound too dreamy and cliche in this regard, but I believe that someone out there is waiting for your story and mine.
I agree. But I’m not publishing anything else until the AI/copyright issue is settled properly. I’m not putting any more of my work out there until it’s guaranteed that the tech bros aren’t going to profit off my work without compensating me while simultaneously putting me and every other writer out of a job. (ง︡’-'︠)ง
I expect this to take literally years to sort out, probably until the social democrats get into office in the U.S. So I’ve got all the time in the world to write my series. ¯\_(ﭢ)_/¯
You’re going to be waiting for a long while. Are you sure you want to do that? I get AI is a major problem, but that shouldn’t stop you. If anything that should motivate you more to put something out there.
If people want to read some random stories about outcasts, I’m more than happy to oblige them Read as much as you want to! I’m sure it has a niche amongst people looking something different.
It’s good not to let yourself stress about what people think My best seller has great reviews… and also not so great reviews. Doesn’t matter, still my best seller, and my personal favorite project.
I mean, if people are out there buying dinosaur/transformer’s smut then hell, SOMEbody’s gotta like my work because there’s some wild stuff out there. I’m more concerned about where humanity is at intelligence-wise and literacy. All these stats coming out about AI literally dumbing down our brains, Tik Tok’s killing attention spans, and now stats about generations younger than mine who literally cannot read or write? At this rate, as the years go by, I’m writing for a dying breed apparently. We all are. We’re much closer to turning into the Wall-E movie than most people think. I even see it on Webtoons in the comments section. You can tell who is paying attention and reading carefully versus speed-scrolling or just looking at the pictures. They’re all like, “THIS DOESN’T MAKE SENSE” or whatever complaint they have, and it’s like, “Dude. You’re not reading properly.” I have a main story line, but sub-plots too. I worry people can’t keep up with it.
100% agree. If you love your story idea, there’s bound to be someone else who does to. That’s honestly why I ignore some of the hate I get It’s like, guys, if ya don’t like the story, don’t read it. Problem solved But yeah, there may always be haters but there will ALWAYS be people who love what you write.
