Thoughts on killing off this particular character and killing off everything?!

I have a character, which I have a kind and fortunate feeling for… However, I have not written him into this tale as of yet… In time I will add him to the tale, and as such he will go through much debate and trials that will bring him to his doom…

Do I fear letting him go?
No…
Do I like this person?
Very much…
Why am I letting him go?
Because I want the reader to feel how I feel about him, his trials and his ultimate demise… Which will be gut wrenching when it is told…

Why write a character in a tale when you will finally end him/her?
Because these people exist in life… Either the person you see each day on a bus, or someone you see often just walking their dog… If something small happens and they stand up to the challenge, it defines them in your own life… But in a book, and with more world defining ways, or not depending on the tale/genre/level of choice… It can resonate in a death beyond the living, not as a martyr of sorts but just an inspiration which can cross many boundaries between fiction and your own lives…

And that is a great thing to behold…
