I have the strongest urge to give this story a prologue, but as I am thinking about it in the same token it does not need a prologue.
The reason why I want to give it a prologue is the very same reason why I don’t think that there is a need for one in the first place.
Sure I can write one and probably toss it later if I don’t really need it. But I shouldn’t have written one in the first place.
I really don’t know what to do at the moment. It is leaving me with mixed feelings on the matter when there shouldn’t be any.
What are your thoughts on this?
I shall explain more later!

Write it but call it chapter one.

Are you kidding me with that comment? LOL!
I guess I can make the story really start on chapter two if I really wanted to.
I suppose that can work. Still, have the urge though.

Interesting. You can make it a prologue without calling it a prologue, I suppose.

You write it, first draft.
Each bit of information you can introduce later in the story, go delete that line from the prologue as you go. If you incorporate everything, no need for a prologue.

I understand. Thank you for the assist.
Is it a more-than-three-book character drama fantasy epic OR an epic poem?
Give it a prologue!
Is it literally anything else?
Just don’t.

For the time being it is just a science-fiction novel.
