What does “character-driven” even mean?

I was confused at one point and there are times where I am still confused a bit.

Now, I don’t really care too much that my story is plot or character driven if that makes sense.

If I am being completely honest…

It can be useful but has very strict limits

Understandable and I can see that.

I still say Lisa Cron’s right – all fiction stories are character-driven. If the plot overwhelms your character development, then what you’ve got there is a badly written story. The plot should drive the character to do things he wouldn’t ordinarily do, but the real story should be about how the character grows and changes as a result of what happens to him.

Just my opinion, though. Don’t mind me. ( -.-)\(^◡^ )

Yeah, that’s how I see it as well, but it’s a weird way to think about it.

Well, irl, doesn’t it irk our nerves when these people keep asking “why does this keep happening to me?!” when it’s something that most likely stems from their actions?

And it also gets us in trouble when we assume actions when it’s eviromental.

This is a general human we.
