What makes your complex and complicated main character enjoyable to write?

Just curious to know!

My Turn:

My main character is fallen Saint (god) who seeks revenge against the other Saints from stripping her of her powers. Now, she has to pretend to be a bubbly yet down-to-earth working as a Knight to get her revenge while climbing the ranks. My main character is secretly vile, ruthless, sadistic, and evil. Though she is masking that by being bubbly, kind, duty-bound and down-to-earth. She is able to adapt to any situation because of it. To write such a character is a fun joyride because I get to explore what it’s like to write a villainous protagonist who is posing as a chill person.

What about you all? Thoughts and feelings?

Not since Kirby has a hero defeated enemies by using the power of a black hole to absorb their power.

The fact he’s normal and not like the other characters I write.

Actually, it’s kind of gut-wrenching at the moment. My mc’s best friend died when they were children, so he’s trying to experience everything in life that his friend couldn’t. Later he meets Lord Byron who encourages this, telling him that pleasure-seeking is the only reason for being alive. As a result of their conversation the mc knocks up a chambermaid in Greece before ghosting her, but she tracks him to his home a few months later. When she tells him she’s pregnant with his baby and they should get married, he tells her he’s not interested in women in that way, so she’s about to throw herself off a balcony. I’m not in the mood to write that scene at the moment, though. ʕʘ﹏ʘʔ

a dominant personality, who uses golemancy, I can use such a power to do almost anything I want. Golemancey lends itself to be a scholarly and practical art
