Realistic fiction of the slice-of-life variety, but with twists, turns, drama, and some romance toss in the mix?

Mafia crime boss fiction type of thing. Underdog rising to the top. Characters with questionable morals. Once best friends getting entangled in drama on two separate sides. Betrayal and backstabbing. Dead bodies in the night. There’s a guy with a golden ring with a symbol he uses to punch people with and is known for that because the symbol gets embedded in their skin.
The one lady: a top business woman owning several casinos. Everyone is afraid of her. She has a secret family with two lovely children she holds dear to her heart and will turn into a ruthless mama lion if anyone were to harm her family.
