When you go to your fav author's website, what do you hope to find?

For me,

  • list of published books

  • list of up-coming books

  • news (about their life or their book)

  • some behind the scenes of what kind of interesting things they found out during the research for their book (I can’t remember who it was, but one author had a whole section about antiques and their search for rare vintage items which match the aesthetics of their book)

  • character art (original or fan art)

  • of course, an about me in third person with something personable like about their family or their hobbies

  • maybe blog posts which could include short stories or poetry

  • character profiles completed with pictures and aesthetics

  • if it’s fantasy, some world building info and art and maps from the books

Spoiler indicators at the top of spoilery pages could be helpful. I don’t think I’ve seen anything like that though. And, personally, I don’t mind if there’s no profile picture or list of education degrees.

What about you guys?

Agreed with all the above but uh… why in third person?

I don’t know. I might be the odd one out, but I like seeing about me’s in first person unless it’s on the back of the book. xD

Because it’s supposed to be that way, apparently. Otherwise it looks unprofessional, apparently :stuck_out_tongue:

I don’t like it either.

But I used to make a joke out of it saying “and she oftens refers to herself in the third person (joking, of course she doesn’t)” or something like that :stuck_out_tongue:
