I was just saying in a similar Inkitt conversation that I found myself unable to write to music lately! which is funny, because I’ve got entire soundtrack playlists for my earlier novels. I’ve also tried the writing at a café thing, and while I love the change of scenery and having good coffee within reach…I really struggled with the BGM 
it’s like I couldn’t hear myself think 
on that note, I might have to follow my own advice (recently given in another Inkitt conversation) and scrap my attempts at a chapter so far… after I completed my read-through on Saturday, I was out in the park most of Sunday, and felt too tired to write when I got back up. I typed up some notes, and today I tried to bring the whole chapter together, but it just doesn’t want to 
usually when this happens, I have to scrap everything and start over. I might reuse some of the scraps, but…oh well.

The word dragons are going to have to be killed off by another story 
It’s not working out for me, the gangsters and the romance. The characters are fine but it’s dragging. The plot. I want to focus on something else I can write easier.
Maybe, who knows? Maybe it will be inspired by something like Kinto Sol (found them at some point, they’re a rap group made up of three Mexican brothers who moved to Milwaukee when they were young. A lot of their music/image contains Aztec/traditional Mexican themes and they typically rap in Spanish).
This song’s pretty nice, Ella Se Fue. Think it’s one of their more popular ones, afaik.
It sucks doesn’t it? I’ve had another day of regaining energy and blowing my nose and coughing haha. Think I might have some honey and ginger green tea or something soon.

I’ve written 9613 words in all so far. If this were NaNo we’d need to have 11,669 by the end of today, so yup! Right on schedule I’m falling behind. This is just about the spot where I started falling off during NaNo every year too–around the end of the first week. ☜(ˆ▿ˆc)

chapter 27 is also done & dusted 55.7k words as of right now. hopefully I can churn out 2 more chapters this weekend.
so far, I’ve been mostly sticking to the scenes I’ve laid out in my outline for this last stretch, but - they keep taking up more space than I expected lol. my estimated last chapter bumped up to 34 instead of 32 at least I’m happy to have a working outline, because otherwise at this point, I would forget all of the clues/red herrings/etc. I also suspect I’ll do some serious trimming in my second draft, so. just trying to tackle this one chapter at a time.

My partner made it. He’s good at that sort of thing. I’m absolutely clueless and always afraid of messing things up.

I love how it says the earth will travel 167,229,455 km in that time period. Like, is that meant to make you feel guilty that the earth is accomplishing more than you are? Very motivating! (>‿◠)

I mentioned I had a rough start, by coming in late in another post. Personal goal is 30K, this year.
Had a really bad stomach bug make that goal very hard to keep up with. Currently at 8991 words, -795 test words before the month started, being 8196 for the month. Must make 9K to be on track, so I’ve got 804 words to go.
