Now up to 3k out of 10k words done, hoping to reach the goal before the new job cuts the amount of time I can dedicate
The dragons look at Churro and threaten to torch him a bit for procrastinating slightly. ![]()
Oh no! Better not let the dragons come after me!

Weekly Wordra Update Time!
Week One: How did you do?
The word count may not show it, but I struggled this week. I couldnāt get immersed into the writing, but what made me motivated was seeing that Iām not the only one fighting against a word dragon
You guys, and the guys on IG, all motivated me to write one more sentence each writing session!
My word dragon: 50,000
Currently: 29,685
Only got in 1385 words today. I actually thought of not writing today, but then I thought of everyone else, and decided to show up for my writing project. One sentence at a time, and I managed 1385 which is pretty good for a day where I feel the least motivated.
I also managed to introduce some new shocking lore into the story. Thereās a labyrinth dungeon somewhere now ![]()
Iād say thatās good progress, even if difficult!
As said before, I had a rather slow start, having to read a few chapters to get into the groove. Iād say there were about 4 days where I had a steady pace, and only 1 where I wrote more than 1k words.
My word dragon: 10,000
Current count: 3,147
On the bright side, I got past one of my more important scenes! Marta is currently a mess, emotionally speaking.
The good thing is, you showed up for your writing project ![]()
You have backed your word dragon up against a rock wall beneath a giant cliffā¦for now ![]()
itās a struggle for sure
Iām at ~58k words, but Iām not advancing much. Iām having a hard time with transitions between chapters, where to end, where to begin, how much to show. Iām trying to follow my outline, but I feel like Iām going too slowā¦then if I wanna go faster and skip some scenes, I feel like Iām skipping clues.
so Iām going to try to just write out everything that comes to me. progress as much as possible. I donāt think I will finish this monthā¦but I want to at least have the words down, clumsy as they are, so I can refine them later.
Thatās the way to do it ![]()
Then at least youād have something to work off of, right?
thatās what Iām counting on! hopefully I can slim down the second draft, I feel like this first one is going to be too longā¦
Its a tough dragon (for me, being a slow writer lol) but Iāll do my best in keeping it at bay!
I donāt know if writing in this thread last night is the thing that jogged my brain into action, but I managed to snap myself out of my slump and finished another chapter yesterday.
Iāve also revised my outline (I keep doing it because the scenes are never as long or short as expected), but I figured out a good transition that was bugging me, and Iāve got a good feel for the ending⦠Starting to feel hopeful again that I might finish by December 1st ![]()
Iāve finished chapter 29 and am now at 60k words ![]()
Pretty Rickyās playing in my head for no reason lol
Week Two Updates!
My Word Dragon: 50,000
Reached: 37,835
Getting a cold was not the plan.
62k on chapter 31
Iām slooooowly getting there⦠![]()
Oof, rolling in for the update:
Currently at 21, 219 words (-975=20,234), so about 10K from this monthās goal.
Not sure how itās happened, but Iāve now got 41,500 words. Ł©(Ėā”Ė)Ū¶
Iād say Pomodoro playlists definitely help. (į¦Ėį“Ėį¦) ā«ā¢ĀØā¢.ĀøĀøāŖ
That music is perfect for Fantasy/Adventure genre ![]()
I prefer video essays or rap/reggaeton music to immerse me into stories. I think depending on what youāre writing about and the genre, the music should go with it to immerse you.
ohhhh thatās brought me to an interesting playlist
thereās even a masquerade ball! I have one of thoseā¦
