I have a list of situations based on character, setting, and plot/story. There a list situation scenarios that can work for any fiction genre.

Sarah had a falling out with her family over a decade ago, after an argument turned into a physical altercation. She hasn’t spoken to them since then, until three years ago Sarah met her father and younger sister after an argument. Upon meeting Sarah, neither her father nor younger sister are happy to see her, unlike Sarah.

Terrance found a magical stone that whenever he touches it, grants his wishes. However, it grants his internal wishes, as if hearing his most inner thoughts. The stone can dismiss the wishes too, even the impossible ones too. The catch is that internal wishes are only granted, meaning Terrance speaking his wishes vocally will never work and he has to touch or hold the stone.

A bizarre event happens on Earth, all over the oceans/seas have become vast forests, hiding eldritch beings and other alien things. Four friends go into a forest to camp, yet only one of them manages to leave, several decades later, the same age.

Wanda and Carlos have been dating for eight weeks. Things are going smoothly with them, though Wanda wants to meet his family. Around the time when Carlos introduces Wanda to his family, he gets into a major car accident, claiming his life. Wanda goes to Carlos’s funeral where she meets his family, only to learn that Carlos was already in arranged marriage that he wanted out, along with his family possibly being the cause of Carlos’s death.

There is a city called Hopeful City, where people can build a life for themselves and get introduced into the latest technology and more. Aaron leaves his city to visit a family member on the outside. What he learns is that nobody can leave the city, and are stopped before it happens. Aaron also learns that his family member that he wanted to visit, is the source of how the city continues thriving, along with the others who tried escaping.

Michelle heads to a graveyard late at night after coming from a long day at work. She hates to enter the graveyard to get home, but it’s the only way. She travels through the graveyard to encounter an older woman who stands in front of a grave stone, crying. When Michelle goes over to speak to the woman, she learns her name is Cynthia and how she always comes to see her deceased husband. She and Cynthia talk for a bit then part ways. Michelle travels through the graveyard to learn the truth about Cynthia.

He left a massive series of puzzles for members of his family to solve. Whoever solves it wins everything and takes it all. Things get violent when family members start killing each other off to claim everything. Yet it takes the remaining family members to learn that everything in the will won’t go to them, nobody gets and everything goes to charities under the elderly multi-billionaire’s name.

Grace and Lewis discover the room only to get magically transported into a magical world with an deadly secret.

This nation is very isolated from the outside world, though merchants sneak into the nation with their goods to do trade, only to learn that crystals are how the people of the nation pay for their goods. It turns out while the nation has not only lived in isolation, it has been out of society, still clinging onto the past. The other nations are ahead of this country in time and tech, why is that?

Diana never wanted to do ballet, she cares less about being the professional ballet dancer her mother was. However, her father knows that being a doctor is what she is truly passionate about. As hard as Diana wants to be the doctor her mother refuses to allow her to be, it takes her to cave in to see what the fuss is about. Her giving into her mothers demands end up ruining her in the end, when an unfortunate accident causes Diana to no longer pursue a passion as a ballet dancer, but to also let go of becoming a doctor. With confronting her mother about how badly she ruined her life with her dreams, why was her mother more pleased than bitter about what happened to her daughter?

People no longer remember when Earth had one sun. The planet has five suns for reasons that the people on Earth can no longer remember. Due to the five suns, the planet has gone through major environmental changes, causing the human race to suffer in the end. However, a small group of humans know the truth, there has always been one sun, never five. Yet the other suns aren’t sun after all, just a major dark secret of a horrible future for the cosmos. What might that be? How does the small group know that?
