When I was living in the city I went to the library pretty often! It was walking distance from my apartment and it had a nice local history room in the upper level that didn’t get much traffic and had a lot of tables and chairs for writing.
But alas, I’ve moved back to my hometown and the local librarians know me. Which is fine! They’re very lovely! But it just makes me a little squirmy that they know who I am and what I’m doing. Kinda shatters my bubble of isolation, y’know? Plus I live out-of-town so it’s not as convenient to go anymore, and they’re closed on Sundays which, if I get a day off, it’s usually that one.
yes it would be so fun!
I missed the last thing you had tagged me in but I know people use screenplays as a means of outlining there story. it helps them to focus on what is visible and or audible about the story as opposed to the thoughts and feelings directly and see if it works on that end. and to strengthen it etc.
I think I would, and by this definition I have done. I also used to live in a very isolated lodge in the middle of absolutely nowhere, and spent a fair whack of time there alone when my family went away, which to me still counts even though it was ‘home’ lol. I’ve also written extensively whilst away, including in castles (which are VERY inspiring for fantasy!!!). I’m not rich or anything but if I’m going on vacation, it’s usually somewhat work-related.
My regional writing group hosts them too, and I’m determined to make it one year. But they always do it in the city center which doesn’t seem as inspiring to me as a rustic cabin out in the middle of nowhere, but I understand that’s a lot harder to get to, and pay for, than a random AirBnB.
