You're going out to dinner with THREE different fictional characters of your choosing...

Well to help with that, Boston to Pittsburg is 570ish miles apart, and that’s places that are cloae together, to me.

Because America is an extremely huge mass of land.

It rwally is. The way I view a trip is: Im taking a trip out of town if its more than half an hour’s drive. I drive 10-15 min into town, here. New Orleans is roughly 45 minutes to get to, maybe an hour to cross in heavy traffic. Baton Rouge is 2.5 hours. 8 hiurs is a comfortable day trip out, 16-18 hiurs is what 2 drivers can manage without going insane. It was 2 days like that to get to Las Vegas.

But really, with kids? I want to do 6 hours, tops, and it would be an overnight stay, minimum.

Yeah, that’s what my parents thought when they raised us :joy: We used to go on week trips around Ireland for our summer vacation when we didn’t go abroad. We went the whole way down to Cork once [almost 7 hours long], and miraculously survived. We drove home fast because a soccer tourament was starting.

From here to Donegal is a smiliar time and distance for you to get to Baton Rouge, but this is driving across 2-3 counties and not cities within the same state. Louisiana is also 1.6 times the size of Ireland.

Yeah, it would get me to Shreveport or halfway to Disney.

Anyone else?

Deunan Knute from the Appleseed anime / manga series.
Rally Vincent from the Gunsmith Cats anime / manga series.
Sofiya “Balalaika” Irinovskaya from the Black Lagoon anime / manga series.

And, yes, they are all armed. To ensure good service, and a uninterrupted night(s) out…no interlopers…

Where to eat? Anywhere and everywhere that serves a good steak and red wine…Mine’s a T-Bone, medium rare, with a Yarden Cabernet Sauvignon (Golan Heights wine) thanks…

What to discuss? Everything. I want to learn their tricks, from fitness to firearms to finance (legal and otherwise). And I want everyone to have a good laugh and de-stress too.

Update:
Some other dinner guest options include…
Motoko Kusanagi from Ghost in the Shell
Naomi from Armitage III
Ragnar and / or Lagertha from Vikings (replace the wine with mead)
Misato from Neon Genesis Evangelion
Sylia Stingray from Bubblegum Crisis: Tokyo 2040

Janina from Drive Your Plow Over the Bones of the Dead
Selma from What You Can See From Here
Anna Madrigal from Tales of the City

It’s going to be an episode of the Golden Girls. Three seasoned older ladies taking a young gay ingenu under their wings. We’ll go to a nice vegan restaurant (Janina will be pleased) and watch the world go by from the window.

I’m not sure what we’ll talk about… love? Tarot? I believe Anna reads tarot, and Janina herself is a bit of an amateur astrologer. Selma wouldn’t want to take any part in the conversation because she claims she can predict death. All three ladies are a little too familiar with the topic of death

After dinner we’ll go sit in my garden — I’m sure all of them will roast me for the state of it. We’ll smoke the best quality grass kindly provided by Anna. I’m going to be paranoid as usual, Anna’s going to chill out and Janina is going to talk about that one time she got high and got horny for some biologist. Selma is going to be wild and very funny, and as the night falls we would probably be trying to keep her from falling asleep. Because if she does, and dreams of okapi… someone is most definitely going to die.

I just realized if I want to have dinner with characters like Goku, Luffy, and some other big eater, I am going to be one broke bitch.

Damn!

Buffet. We have a semi-buffet sushi restaurant in New Orleans.
