YouTube Shorts? How does one do it?

Do what you want. Really. There’s going to be a lot of “YouTube advice people” who will say this is better, that is better, and contradict each other all over the place. I’ve watched them and eventually gave up on listening because all the things they say to do, a majority of them, I don’t want to do. So, I don’t.

And then I’ll go on a random small creator search and find small creators who have bad camera quality and get, on average, 300 views per video, and talk about books and cacti or knitting or something. Some of them don’t show their faces.

But they’ve found their niche audience who come back to listen to them ramble.

You just need to do what you want and enjoy and eventually, some people will find you.

Reals are great to find local crackheads though.

The long and short (pun not intended) of it is that shorts are quick and easy to make! If you want to do faceless, that’s cool too - I’m not too sure what the market is like for faceless/voiceless shorts about a random persons life, so you’ll have to really figure out why people would want to watch those  Maybe your progress into publishing, updates on your books etc.

Videos of this length still do fine. Someone recently did a test on a brand new faceless account to see how much they could grow it with no promotion - I think it was 25 videos (all long form) and he hit 8k subs with no promotion at all. This is for gaming, and I haven’t watched this video yet but here’s his vid explaining it all.

This is true of all the platforms. TikTok also gives a bump in exposure to videos uploaded after a long time, that will fall off after the first upload though.

So, here’s the saddest thing, I am not great at editing videos and I am dimwitted at how to even go about putting a bunch of clips together to make it one video.

It’s sad but true.

Well, nobody was born knowing how to do it  You just have to learn

Yeah, it is and I am wondering if what I am going for would work the same way. It makes sense in a way, but I am just hobby writing and reading along with anime watching and manga/manhwa reading too. I still want to be faceless and voiceless, but I don’t think this is a truly helpful video.

I hope you can find a format that works for you! Best of luck Qualeshia!

I believe I found one.
Sorry for being a bit annoying, I’ve been stressing a bit again.

Update: Now that I think about it, I don’t need a vlog type video. I can do a short-ish video on my writing and all at my desk with random reading snippets in the video.

So, I would rather just stay in one or two places, still not showing my face or revealing my voice.

Thanks I am good. I just need to edit the video better and add some nice aesthetics to the video.
