Yeah, i have a lot of unfinished novels and plans for later dates lol. I’m determined I’m going to make this one work though. And so far its been 100% by determination and treating it like I treat work lol.
I roleplay Josy and Frankie with a friend and they said they don’t have a spark, so maybe I have to just work on them a bit more, and I prefer being a storyteller without SUPER HEAVY plot point focus. Yes, having an actual plot is important but it doesn’t have to be super thought out.
A lot of my stories are genuinely character heavy and focused and a lot of these plots (not all of them) don’t seem to work in the same way but I am trying my best to get something out–I may have found something–but I’m not sure.
Maybe I just need to experiment some more? Think about things?
Yeah, I feel that. idk trying to start right in the heat of things helped me get inspired. Though, I’m feeling a little lost now I finished that bit and have to keep going with it lol.
How do I even bridge the gap between Josy and Frankie? Should I just move back to an old story if nothing is really coming from this? Argh!
rolls in 4 days later
I am very bad at encouragement, but I’m gonna say what everyone else did that you got this, and the idea is interesting.
Thanks I think that the more thinking I do and the more I focus on the story, the more it comes together. Right now, I accidentally made connections in it and some interesting characters lol. Maybe this will create more tension and drive the plot forward?
I am done with chapter 18 of Project Succession! The next chapter is when things really take off and I am excited to see what is going to happen next.
I’m such a slow writer haha. I started my story in 2020 and I’ve only written a prologue and 9 chapters so far. But I write a lot of text – it is my plan for it to be an epic dark fantasy – with only a prologue and 9 chapters, I’ve already written almost 40K words. I also JUST finished writing my ninth chapter with 1045 days since the last chapter I wrote. Life just gets in the way too much and my studies have been getting in the way, but I also just recently graduated so I hope to start picking up the pace. For next week, I hope to start on the tenth chapter haha. My favourite thing I’ve done this week is actually picking up where I left off which is also the hardest thing. Wish me luck on my progress!
Here’s a preview of my most recent chapter:
I’ve done something awful… I’ve tried to link three stories together and do crossovers! Why?
They’re all in the same place and the same timeline with similar gangs.
Why don’t I do three single books and just loosely connect them? Angel Falls Lore.
Angel has fallen for this idea
hahah
In general, they’re starting to go again. I’ve had to take a break the last several days for mental health reasons, but I think I’m getting back on track. Going to try to get back on the horse tomorrow.
Started on my next plot point in the story. Will have to power through an uncomfy bit before things pick back up again but progress is progress.
I’m going to keep my ambitions small and just focus on getting through this plot point for the month. It’s a shorter one but one of the most important to her character development so hopefully all goes well. I don’t want to overload myself at the moment.
Hopefully I can get back into the swing of writing an hour before work each day. It really helps.
I FINISHED DRAWING THE CONTINENTS OF ALAGOSSIA ON PAPER!!!
Also, did the map front to back. I just needed to get a sense of where each nation is where. I have to get more papers to draw more stuff.
I am pleased!
things are not going story wise. otherwise IM GOING TO COLLEGE WHEEEE
progress? zero. this is why I would fail NaNoWriMo.
any tips to get back on track?
goals? not writing related lol. maybe finish editing the chapters I have left of my novel hehe.
a chapter a week? idk, it worked last time until I gave up on it.
I have not been doing a good job of holding you guys or myself accountable
I’ve been so swamped with school I havent been doing much work on my book. I honestly might have to save up and pay for that last beta reader.
I am going to have to return back to Project Succession in terms of the chapter I am still working on.
I’ve been very lax these days, yet I wasn’t in the right head space to work on it. I am getting there in terms of being able to return back to get in the flow of writing.
Heck yeah!!!
For me just talking about it and getting super hyped up about your project helps. Or just finding a little time in the day and dedicating to just setting down and gettign some words down.
Good luck with college and stuff!
Education is number 1 priority. I wish you the best of luck with your beta reader stuff!
ok, i’ll try that, thanks.
