Indeed it is.
That sounds about right! I was almost sure I had a post with 28k characters and was confused for a moment. Thank you very much, CJ. And thank you, Star
Just wanted to say that I reviewed the new rules and they are very well-written and well organized. Iām glad you took our input into consideration!

(Sorry it wonāt let me quote)
What about linking your story for payment?
Ok great! So for example one might want to say something likeā¦
Payment is reading 1 chapter of this story
ā¦?
Great! Thank you!
hey! quick question iām not sure where to drop; why do images not show up when placed in between html code? the upload function doesnāt work at all and when i used the img src attribute they show up for 5 mins and disappear after that. anyone know whatās going on?
Hi! Quick question have you placed a length and a width?
only a width value, will adding height help?
Yes, would you please try adding a height and let me know how you go?
tried again, but it disappeared again. i looked at the edits of the post and it looks like the system downloads local copies of the image, which makes it not show up. maybe i should place it outside of code? i really donāt know, this is so bizarre.
edit: nevermind, i fixed it! for anyone having the same problem, since the system transports the img src attribute to its own format, you should just upload the image through the web option and it apprently works that way.
<a><img src="image_link_here"></a>
is the method I use for inserting images into spans.
why isnāt this working for me? T-T hereās a screenshot of what happened when i tried it;
the code didnāt change much either, the img src tag was just replaced by a weird ! thingy. i donāt worry for this thread as i found a way to place the image on top, but other threads that contain the image instead end up like this too
Come and dump your code here and I can try and walk through it with you if you want:
thanks, that is very kind of you!
Hulloooo. Question about contests.
Iāve been thinking of starting a flash fiction contest. From my understanding, most user-run contests are more about marketing/networking for both users and judges (which, fair) rather than motivating people to write or appreciating othersā work. You enter the contest, follow all judges, maybe donāt hear back from them for months (if ever), and all the stories are just kind of floating separately in the WP void. What Iād like to do with my writing contest is have it be more community-based by having the entries be posted directly in the contest thread. That way, ideally, everyone could have a nice space to chat about it, connect more, and read in one place what everyone else came up with for the prompts.
A big concern I have with this is that I know we have to keep mature content off these forums, but I donāt want to say the entries canāt be mature because that can be limiting for some people. A way around this could be by marking the story as mature (and/or listing any trigger warnings) and hiding the entry using the summary thing where you toggle and then the text shows up (lol, I donāt know what that affect is called??). Iād probably say to use that toggle thing anyway to keep the entries tidy on the thread.
So 1) would it be okay to even have the contest entries be posted directly on the thread?
and 2) if so, would mature entries be acceptable if marked accordingly and hidden by the toggle thing (or blurred fully), or would that still be going against forum guidelines?
Hey there! Good question! We do allow writers to post their links to mature work, we just ask that any explicit excerpts not be. And yes of course your contestants can post the entries on your thread! Honestly we encourage that.
Hereās the part of the CoC youāre looking for:
2.L.iv.a Pornographic Content
Wacky Writers considers content āpornographicā when it portrays sexual subject matter for the exclusive purpose of sexual arousal. This includes, but is not limited to, images, writing, film, video, and video games. If you are a writer of sexually mature content, discussions of your work on the forum should be done with discretion and explicit excerpts should not be posted. You may share your Mature (18+) story in the appropriate categories and with the appropriate rating (tagged āMatureā), but that type of content cannot be written about in length on this platform.
I hope this helps!
CJ
Okay, thanks!
