OK, so I have to ask a serious question about the worldbuilding of Carry On.
What is, and what isn’t, a “dark spirit”? What sort of criteria is there?
Because there are these creatures in Hinduism and Buddism called Asura/Ashura which aren’t good or bad, strictly speaking. Many mythological and legendary creatures don’t fit into the simple “dark spirit”/“pest” dictonomy. I ask because in the original book, Rashakas, a kind of Asura, were specifically mentioned but not explained in depth because Simon Snow is an idiot coward.
When I read the title “Carry On Fans” I immediately thought of the British comedy series.
