jeeeez- didn’t realize you liked them so much
I mean I get the dinosaur one, but the arguments? that’s a new one loool.
response to '“make fast, break things”
please don’t lump north america with europe and say “westerners”. what you’re mentioning is primarily a US attitude. i’ve lived in both contintents for an extended period, and i’d say that it’s only the US that has that ‘american dream’ situation going on. the rest of the world, including canada, doesn’t really care. in fact, where I am now (ireland) people are super cautious about how they take risks, and oftentimes they’re so unwilling to change that they’d rather die than take the risk of breaking tradition for a method that is proven to work better.
i’m Russian. I only say i’m Canadian because I lived there for 5 years and have the passport, so it has impacted me fairly well. I don’t reflect the views and cultural habits of the people in the US and Canada. just because I live/have lived there doesn’t mean that I am of that culture. I stress this because there is always a strong distinction between where someone is from and where they live/have lived.
as for comments on that attitude, I see people not doing that enough. i’ve been an immigrant my whole life, I’ve been weighed down by other people’s expectations for what they think I should be and I hate it. that’s why I have that attitude. I don’t want the light in my eyes to die.
and that’s not to say that I intentionally make stupid choices to have fin. instead, I push myself to consider if there’s a better way - a way that doesn’t make everyhting hell. and often times, there is.
response to scapegoats
this I can confirm. unfortunately, it’s kind of like the salem witch trials – it’s not about who’s actually guilty, but who’s the most convenient person to blame. often times, that ends up being people who are different in some shape of form. just bc they’re different or challenge society, they are automaticaly the scapegoats for everything wrong with the world.
as one of those people, I really don’t give a fuck anymore. if i’m the scapegoat anyway, might as well own it and raise a little hell. oh, and think for myself while i’m at it.
this is a good point. it’s rly not good to reinvent the wheel. but also, if a path that’s well-travelled is horrible for you, then well, fuck it. get some really comfy shoes instead of walking barefoot on gravel, or just go to a nicer path.
hmm… about this: I digress that it’s a good thing to bruise your ego once in a while. helps you grow.
