Vacation were exhausting! I really need me time vacation with nobody around me for a while! 
So, as you know, I have a writer block with my story, I can’t seem to finish the last couple chapters the way I wanted. So I decided that I wil vomit everything I want to in it, because as the writer, I can’t figure out what the reader need for closure, want answers need to be answered etc. I’ll edit after the critics and comments, otherwise I’m afraid that I’ll never end this thing!
Also, yesterday I stumble on a publicity on FB, Dreame app I think (where they give you a couple chapter to read right away on the post). It was a werewolf story, and I was pleasantly surprise, it was well writing and it was easy to read.
Until I read the POV of the MMC, and it was like all the other story on those app, with the same layout; the fated mates, the moon Goddess. And I realized, same as MINE.
It make me cringe and I realize that if I cringe, readers might too.
So.
I’m gonna change the backbone of my story. Not the whole story or the plots, but I’m going to delete the Moon Goddess stuff and recreate a complete ‘‘Gods’’ story as to how/why lycan and werewolves were created and their purpose on earth. I’m also going to keep the fated mates, but I’m looking for a twist, not sure what about yet.
That sounds like a huge undertaking! It always feel very intimidating to me to change my stories so drastically. I’m trying to re-write my 1st ever story a little so that it reads better and I need to add word count to it, as it was at like 42K.
Always keep in mind though, that they say every single story out there has been told numerous times and nothing is unique anymore. It may be uncommon, but not unique. So each writer may tell the same “story” but in a different way. 
I don’t planned on changing the story drastically, at least for now. The stories about the Gods will be more like a ‘‘history class’’ for Ornella, but I won’t change the whole story, just the how and the why mostly.
I think I just want to take a more ‘‘myself story’’ path, and not just litteraly copy the frame of many numerous similar stories. When I was thinking about it, because I read a lot of those kind of stories on numerous apps, the ones I enjoyed the most were the one having a different world and a different dynamic.
I also have to edit it first, and it’s going to be a ride I already started the third draft, and i’m down 10k already in 10 chapters so far. and I hope to be able to downside this monster under the 150k (currently around 230k ish)

Another good Sunday! A little bit of a Hiatus last week with the forums being down, but so glad they are finally up again. Feels good to be back where we belong. I’m ready to get some reading done on some of these stories this upcoming week and excited to see what yall have going on as well.
I know my opinion doesn’t fully matter since it’s your story in the long run, but in all honesty. The werewolf books i’ve read here in this group are the only ones that haven’t given me the ick. I’m really not a fan of werewolf stories for the most part and I’ve loved the ones I’ve read here so far. Take that for what it is worth. 
But of course we will all be here to help you out on the process/journey in any way you need help.

Ohhh I like that idea! And yes ‘fated mates’ is a beloved trope for a reason and you will have those that crave it. We are here if you ever have any ideas that you wish to bounce off of us. And to what @TMinx804 yes every story has been retold- even Shakespeare nabbed most of his stuff from the Greeks, but it’s how you tell it that makes it special. <3

Well… I mean a short chapter 6 update for Midnight Lotus done. You are welcome to read and sorry for the ending again… I’m the worst. But on the bright side I am taking a Write-cation this week up north where I will have very little to distract me. So I can get caught up with everyones stories and to edit Wolf & Hood as I just got the manuscript back from my editor. Please feel fee to keep reading what I sent for that but know that I will update and change it. I am taking in all your feedback into account as I work on the second draft. Thank You! 
Midnight Lotus will also be a focus this week to get some chapters under my belt for you all.

I think I’ve been so slow on everyones stories because I keep having this expectation to finish everyones chapters in a single day. So from now on, I’m going to make sure I at least finish one of each of your chapters a day. That way I will be less overwhelmed, and by the end of the week, I will have finished at least one chapter each of everyones story or more!

Sorry everyone, but the forum still says that I am a new member so i cannot tag everyone 
I have worked with two different editors thus far and very happy with both for different reasons and one Alpha reader off FIivver. It was worth it for the validation alone. Knowing that they saw the same issues and errors as I did. This first editor I had I consider more a partner. I credit Wolf & Hood to her as she helped me develop scenes and played a key part in the first half of the story. She also helped a bit with Blood & Cinders. The second editor was a paid professional and specialized in my genre doing both developmental and line edits and pointed out all the questions and plot holes I had on the way. It was emensly helpful and honestly for the word count I gave her it was reasonably priced. I will be working with her again likely for a second run of Wolf and Hood before I try my hand at self publishing. I’m only putting money into it cause it’s been a dream to hold a book I wrote in my hand. I am emensly grateful to this group for helping edit and give feedback to my works that help me with later edits! It’s so helpful to have more than one pair of eyes on a story! <3
