Ahhhh I love Tremors! I’ve really only seen the first part (or that’s the only one I remember) but I think it also did so well bc of the cast. I mean, Kevin Bacon and Reba? Total movie magic XD
The part that stayed with me the most was when the old couple in their car gets sucked under the sand and eaten, it was more sad than scary tbh but yeah. Also the convenience store scene lol. Yeah I have to admit, I don’t get that scared from it, but I do love the movie and I want to watch it whenever I can.
I’ve been dying to watch Rubber (about a killer tire) and Attack of the Killer Tomatoes for the same reason. I saw another one that might fall under this category called Lepus, where some lab experiment went wrong and these rabbits turned huge, so ofc they basically were monsters to us humans. It was kinda stupid but actually a little unnerving bc of the way they looked lol. But yeah, Rubber I’ve only heard of from a NostalgiaCritic review on Youtube, and from what I saw, it looked really stupid but really hilarious tbh.
For real! Like almost every horror movie has something happen in a basement, and I’m always like, why buy a house with a basement anyway lmao… all you’re going to end up doing is have a horror movie happen in your house XD Like I plan to never have a basement in my house. Bc I’ve even seen just Lifetime thrillers where they keep people there or someone gets killed there or both (bodies are down there) and it’s just like- nope, I want to avoid the cliche, thanks XD
Ooh yeah Mama was pretty sad actually. Oh dude, you’ve gotta see The Ring, Samara is one of the scariest beings ever. But her story is also pretty sad tbh. Same with Lights Out and the villain there, Diana.
Malignant has the lady who plays the mom in Annabelle (I can never remember which title has which events but the one with the little baby named Leah, this lady plays her mom (which is kinda funny bc her name irl is Annabelle Harris so I always laugh a lil bit tbh-)) and it really takes you on a ride. The Uninvited has Emily Browning and- also takes you on a ride, both of these movies have sick twist endings tbh.
And yeah Insidious is awesome too. I haven’t seen the very last part yet, but I’m really excited for it.
Well- dang XD I’m kinda trying to learn rn, but it’s going pretty slowly, mostly bc I’ve been super busy. My sister knows a lil bit more than I do, only bc we were getting into Babymetal a while back and so she started catching certain things from listening to the songs so often lol.
And ooh, thank you! I’ll definitely have to check it out soon if possible Yeah I agree, they slowly reveal things until the final reveal that turns out to somehow contradict the other reveals in some way but still tie everything together lol. Then it makes you have to sit back and rewatch everything in your head bc you obviously missed all of the Easter eggs that are there all of a sudden, that would have led you to the conclusion XD
Oh wow, crazy. I’ll definitely look out for that when I watch. And yeah, all of those words sound promising lol-
sigh Dang. I had hope lol. Idk Heilung, are they another band?
(btw the answer I was looking for was, “no not really, their early work was a bit too scene for me. But when the Silver Scream came out, I think they really came into their own, commercially and artistically. The whole album has a refined melodic sensibility that really makes it- a cut above the rest.”)
So… it’s a reference to American Psycho, which I haven’t seen but I did watch the clip that inspired this music video by INK once I saw the video. It was the very first song I heard from them and I fell in love. All of their big songs are based on horror movies and bks. Like the reference says (which is a parody of a direct quote from the movie), they really started getting more popular once Silver Scream came out in 2018. The prior album was based on books and was called Every Trick in the Book, and although it was definitely better than their old stuff (just kinda average pop-punk starting out, which I love, but not as good as what they came out with later), it didn’t make as many waves as Silver Scream later did. And then Welcome 2 Horrorwood: The Silver Scream 2 came out in 2021 and that was amazing too.
Bottom line, if you love horror movies, you have to love their music. They (mainly Spencer Charnas, since he’s an avid horror fan) always incorporate lil Easter eggs in the songs pertaining to the original stuff, sometimes direct lines or musical parts, and their albums have their own storyline with Spencer playing himself, but having an alter-ego as a serial killer who basically copies all of these horror movies in his killings (which you’ll see in the ones that have music videos). His wife Nadia Teichmann is even in on it irl and a few well-known actors appear. Also the people from the Dead Meat podcast if you know it (I don’t watch it, but I’d heard of it so it was cool to see them in one of the INK videos). Anyway if you can’t tell, I love this band and hopefully you will too lol XD
