“On it!” He looks around.“Deni! I know you’re in here!” he shouts.
There’s a long pause before another guy calls back. “Bother me again and I’ll wear your skin like a suit, Gio.”
“Aw, you used my name, you love me,” Gio teases back and waved the group over to a specific ladder under a nest. “Oh, feel free to keep your horses over here.” He gestures to a suitable area.
Lol, that was the goal xD.
“What are you into? Fantasy? Romance? Mystery? Ooo, there’s a section of cursed books that can transport you into the stories!”
“Don’t let the big bully scare you. He’s as innocent as… Actually, he’s not innocent, he’s a demon. Don’t believe a lot of what he says.” Gio snickers and makes fire come from his fingertips like a jet to literally fly up the side of the nest instead of having to use a ladder. “Come on up.” He reaches over the side of the ladder to help the others into the nest.
“If they’re cursed.” She nods.“But that means you can die if you make the wrong choice. Each book has its own rules it follows because of lore. If something is supposed to happen and you mess with it… Well, it wouldn’t be great let’s say.”
Introducing a cocky AF Deni! More orange skin, completely blacked out eyes, elf-like ears, super pretty face and long black hair. He’s very attractive with an otherworldly allure to him.
“And this is Deni. Ladies shouldn’t look him in the eyes,” Gio warns. He then turns to the guys. “…He might go after you, too.”
Deni is chilling next to the gray griffin that’s about the size of… three of four horses combined. It looks like a regular griffin lol. With huge wings coming out its back and resting flat against the feathered skin.
“What’s that?” Lockie start to reach the last of the long trail and steps leading to the library.
Sage: “They’re kind of like wild animals, but they still have their own personalities and stuff. There’s a special kingdom that was made for different animals and creatures who are sick or hurt or something and need help, including any griffins they find who need help.”
Thorn: “We visited that kingdom a few days before we ended up here, actually. We had to help them out.”
Dan: o.o
Aiden: “N-nothing!”
Isaac: “Yeah, it’s a bit like a portal but also different somehow. It opens once a month.”
Robin: “There was something that made it stay open permanately for a while, we had to help with that because people kept walking into it, not realizing it was still open.”
Melody: “Then it went back to being open once a month.”
Thorn: “There were some eggs that hatched, actually, but there was another reason we had to help out. We actually all got seperated before that, and it was right after we got almost everyone back together.”
Sage: “Yeah, the animals were all acting different then usual, like friendly ones starting to not be friendly, or ones who usually avoid people suddenly becoming really attached to the caretakers. We found out what was happening, and they all went back to normal.”
Isaac: “Well, Thorn is a soldier of the kingdom he’s from, and Robin is sort of like a knight–also a prince–but mostly it’s just that we were on a journey and sometimes there were things that came up, that we helped with. It’s a bit like the anchient heroes’ journey, I suppose.”
“Sounds like magic.” Gio pets with them.“Was it?” The griffin starts to make happy griffin noises at the strokes. It raises some of its feathers for them to scratch under. It was kind of like an oversized puppy but with a deadly beak and claws.
Deni stands up straight and strolls even closer. (And I don’t remember his height off the top of my head, but if I remember right he’s kind of average height for these characters, so like 5’11"ish… I hope that’s right lol.) Deni land right in front of Aiden with a sweet smile… Because more fang-like teeth. “Humans.” His eyes crinkle in the corners and he gives a handsome smile that’s way more like a threat.
“I was going to say it sounds like a video game.” She’s reached the top! A giant set of wooden doors with beautiful carvings lies in front of them. “Okay, two rules.” She holds up that amount of fingers. “One, don’t go with anyone I don’t vet, and two, don’t read anything out loud if it’s a language you don’t understand. Got it?”
Thorn: “Yes, it’s kind of hard to explain, but there were a bunch of evil creatures and stuff serving the antagonist–there might still be some we haven’t come across yet–that we had to fight. One of them was causing the animals to act different like that, so we had to do battle.”
Dan:
Aiden quickly backs into Sage, who blinks in surprise.
“Ah… So, would you say you’re good fighters then?” Gio smiles and the griffin plops on its side for the best scratches.
“What about you?” Deni smirks at Dan, deciding he’d be the best plaything for his double entendre.
“Yeah, you know, video games, like pew pew and explosions? Weird missions and cool creatures?” She made the accompanying hand gestures to her sound effects.
“Would you like to see the gym next?” Gio pets the griffin that’s acting like a puppy some more.
“Don’t look over there,” Deni says, noticing the movement.
Gio looks over just then. “Y’all good?” He gives a curious thumbs-up gesture.
“It’s… Wait, are you being serious?” Lockie looks shocked.
By the way, kind of lazy to describe the library, but it’s big and old with lots of wood and marble accents in pillars and such. There’s at least four levels with a giant winding staircase going up the middle and lots of creatures are quietly studying and roaming in the different sections at tables or in the different rows.
“Cool. We have lots more creatures in the dungeons to show you.just don’t out your hands in any of the cells and hkj should be able to keep all your limbs. Do you both know how to swim? You know, in case you get tossed in the moat?”

“Dude, be nice. They’re guests and harmless humans. Chill,” Gio barks at Deni… Even though Deni is the kind of character to not give a damn.
“Is he your boyfriend?” Deni looks from Aiden to Dan.
Omg, so many books! Really old dusty ones, glowing ones, dark and shadow-filled ones! Then, there’s the occasional new book with its glossy cover and new book smell.
“But… You know what it is, right?” Lockie eyes go wide.“If not then I’ll have to show you the theater on campus! We literally have nearly everything so we don’t have to go to the human realm often.”
“I think someone we met might have mentioned videos at one point, but I can’t remember exactly,” Robin thinks aloud. “Also, seeing the theater would be nice. Neocrithas has theaters for plays, but seeing these video things would also be cool.”
“Good! No deaths in my watch,” he chuckles.“But then again, I could probably bring your soul back if I wanted… Probably.” Gio turns to Aiden and gestures for him to get away from Deni. “You need some help, dude?” he calls to Dan.
There’s lots of cool spooky spell books if they want to get lost .
“Oh! I can show you some on my phone. You all have phones where you’re from, right?” She pulls it out to show him. She has a huge freaking phone screen.
