So, Drink Deep has a very…sensual murder in the first chapter. I think it might be banned, some time after I enter it. Oy.

Yours has a sensual murder? Over The Moon has a dude who’s high and hallucinating everything and discussing Jesus’ ethnicity :joy: As long as the murder makes sense in the context of the story, you should be good I think.

Oh it does, it’s a mad prince.

Good.

Mine has a ā€˜moon person’.

The other two are relatively normal.

Tagging myself for jumping purposes. Ch1 of Drink Deep now posted. Got the rest of the 1st act’s chapters to edit. This isn’t going to be a fluff piece. I’m hoping this one doesn’t break the censor…

Project C needs a better intro, lol

At this point, I don’t care. I am just firing words out.

After being sick for the whole week (and annoyed that I was too sick to use that spare time to write), I’m finally well enough. Back on track.

It’s funny. For a moment there, I was worried that my story wouldn’t reach 20k, but as of today, I published 18k already and there are still a few chapters left to be written. So we’re looking at closer to 25k total estimate. A very nice size. I like that. Short books are easy to edit.

But overall, I’m getting close to the end. If the writing muse is kind to me and my symptoms don’t get worse again, I might even… Dare I say it? Dare I say it? I’ll say it. I could finish it this weekend. omg
Hehe. That’s very optimistic.

But actually, there’s this weird thing going on with work. Since I was out over 3 days, they require a bunch of paperwork filled out and HR put in writing that they’re expecting me back to work on Tuesday. I think I’ll be well enough to work on Monday, but I wonder… Should I use my energy to write that day instead? I’m tempted to just take them up on this ā€œopportunityā€ and extend my weekend enough to finish this book.

When ill, and not in dire financial straits, do what’s needed for rest. Writing is rest, generally.

Yeah. That’s what I’m thinking. I used up all my PTO and one vacation day. I’m eligible for FMLA which would be unpaid.
I don’t want to burn through more vacation days but one unpaid day is no biggie.

I’m excited.
There’s a scene coming up in my story that I wasn’t sure how I would pull of. I was missing some essential worldbuilding details. I started a new post to ask the folks here for help brainstorming, and as usual, I figured it out while writing all that.

It’s simple and dramatic and should be easy to describe but also it’s cool and I don’t think I’ve seen anything like it elsewhere so I’m psyched. I want to write it already. Yay.

Here’s to winning those small battles!

Does anyone want me to line edit their ONC ahead of the first deadline? I usually offer an ONC editing service but I’m a bit late to the party this year so thought I’d just hop on this thread. Feel free to DM me if interested. I’m not entering ONC but I am writing again, so payment will likely just be to read/comment on the equivalent number of my chapters (no need to edit in return unless you want to).

I want to write another ONC, but I think that I might have time constraints @J.L.O I don’t wanna end up having to write like 100k in three months or less.

That’s a lot for you. I wrote 200K last year, and a good chunk of that was in those 3 months. I know I can hang with 100K, but I don’t know about much more than that.

It is a lot for me :joy: so I am thinking of sticking to the four stories I originally had planning. 200k is a lot. You’re basically writing a saga fantasy book in 3 months. 100k is probably a lot of people’s breaking point, to be honest.

I had an idea for Julio and another character for the see you in the afterlife prompt, but I am already writing four other stories, so I might leave him for the Wattys, or another time. I am focusing on ginger and the cowboy at the moment. And I need to do more Project C.

I want to write but I’m pissed at my husband.
Maybe I’ll hunt some more music for my book playlist instead.

I had this same problem with a scene in my story. I took a break from it because one I was tired and two, I didn’t know where to go from there. I like to take a small break every now and then but I also love to brainstorm in between breaks.
