Yay! My pleasure Good luck with the ONC! I’ll be sending good vibes from the sidelines
Thank you! Hopefully I’ll get past round one this time
That is definitely a challenge Write like the wind!
Hell yeah! Farting words out now
Great cover Good luck!
Lol it’s generally a terrible idea to meet people at Heaven so yeah that checks out
Haha yes!
If anyone is looking for an easy to copy and paste list, I put all the prompts here.
I still haven’t even read all of them. It’s a busy weekend.
So far a few sounded interesting but not enough to spark an idea. Let’s hope that by the time I get through the full list, something speaks to me.
Thank you. If I could pin your post, I would.
That’s why I am using the song lyrics/quote prompts. They can be more open ended, I think. Good luck, though. Hope you find a prompt that speaks to you.
First 2k is nearly done but I wanna finish it all in one fell swoop… alas, I am also a sucker for making pretty things. I’ve told myself I’m not allowed to make ANY animated cover reveals or ads until I’ve finished writing, we’ll see how well that goes.
I’m going through the prompts again. Still didn’t finish the full list yet but two prompts already sound fun. The shapeshifting cat and the tea shop would go great together.
What’s funny is that I could base it on a real world cat.
The problem is I still don’t know what would happen when my protagonist goes inside the tea shop. Maybe I need another prompt.
Jumping in the puddle also sounds fun because I’d totally use it as “I bet this puddle is a portal. Let’s jump.” And then it turns out to be an ordinary puddle. Funny but not much of a story.
You kinda can. Copy link and add in the first post. If you want.
EDIT: I think I’ve got an idea! Need to brainstorm it some more.
This looks amazing already!
I’ll do that, good idea.
Did you come up with an idea/plot?
What I‘m thinking is that my protagonist follows a cat to the tea shop. Inside, the cat turns into a person and she turns into a cat.
So the rest of the book would be her living as a cat and trying to return to normal.
But how? No clue yet.
I’m kinda intrigued by the #3 (retired heroes). There are few other prompts that could go with it to form a story. It feels like a bigger investment, though. Might not be a novella potential.
I read the rest of the prompts. I’m a bit disappointed. There are some that are identical (82 & 103), and some that are so specific, they kill imagination. And what is the obsession with magical libraries in this list? Despite there being 140, there’s not enough variety. We’ll see if I can make something of what’s available.
UPDATE: I have a clearer idea for the cat plot. What I don’t know yet is how I’m going to resolve that story. The protagonist will have an impossible task. So impossible that even the author doesn’t know how to solve it. But I like the idea. I’m tempted to start writing and hope for the best.
What I need next is to figure out my protagonist. What kind of person she would be.
UPDATE 2: I GOT IT! I know how she’ll solve the unsolvable. We’re in business!
That’s exactly what I said I feel validated now
I was starting to despair that it’s my stories that are too stubborn lol. Which may, in fact, still be true tbf
I’ve got 1, and this is the cover…so far.
I’m making myself stick with 1 until it’s finished, then I can test out 2Ks in the remaining time. It will keep me from starting 7-8 of them and tying up months on end when I have editing I need to do …
I like it. I like the title pun too “Twice Upon a Tail”.
Yes, I have two ideas (I got another idea) but sticking with one idea and testing out 2ks in the remaining time sounds wiser. But now I wanna really do the two, but I am thinking it’s not gonna be finished or wise to do them both.
Nice cover also. I like the abstractness of it.
I made a cover for the Eddie one:
It’s really pretty low-cost to put 2K in 2, that’s just 4K. But then it’s the 12K more then next month and 24K more the last month. It’s why I want 1 knocked out beforehand. And this one, I’ve got the layout for figured enough…2 more chapters in the 1st arc, minimum, where I’ve got to account for close to 10 days of freedom in the monster…oy. The other 10 days is the 2nd half, and the woman from the first chapter ends everything. So, I’m guessing maybe 14 chapters?
I’m kind of settling into that style, overall.
