I just realized the deadline for round 3 which is the final deadline is April 25th. So they give you a few weeks per round, but the amount of words to qualify increases? Wth? 
So I need to write like 20k in a month when it took me a month to write/edit 8k? Hahahahahahahaha…

Yeah… I don’t think I can do it. As in, I don’t think I can “complete” the story in time for ONC’s deadline. I’ve been trying to jot down some dialogue when I have a chance and made a bulleted list of what I expect to happen in the next few chapters and it seems like a lot. Maybe I’ll treat this more as, “Let’s see how far I can go by XYZ date” vs “I need to meet # of words by XYZ date.” Since I’m pantsing, there are also some areas I’m not sure where/how they happen so that’s also slowing things down. (sigh)

A Riding Need:
18,732 words this week, to finish out a 28,458 word Novella.
Sheesh, tbis thing has 8 freaking smut scenes and yes, they are integral to the plot ortherwise I wouldn’t have bothered since that could cut me back to 20K.
That’s 2 down, 2 to go…or 5 to go, depending on how its counted.

I’ve given up on completing my story by the ONC deadline. I’ve been too burned out. I’m still writing, but I’ve only had the “brain space” to write chapters in “dialogue only/script” format. Which I’m finding is easier on me. I can still plan what’s going to happen in the chapters, boil each chapter down by its dialogue/characters involved, and not have to spend time overthinking how to write it all eloquently. My goal is still to finish this story. I just don’t think I’ll be able to do it by the end of the month. 
Like why didn’t they make the last round at least an extra two weeks longer?

Except I’ve been forcing myself to stick to one thing because I want to finish it. When I feel that extra “pull” for something new, I take a break and write a new chapter to a fanfiction or a oneshot fanfic, or I just jot down some notes/dialogue in a doc and try to pretend it doesn’t exist. Do you find that you can start and finish multiple projects or you start multiple and either don’t finish any or just finish one? Whichever one gives the most dopamine? 
I can finish multiple or not finish the 1 I am running with. There’s really no rhyme or reason to what makes it and what doesn’t, ither than burnout on long projects. 7 chocied is making me see it’s just overall burnout that is the risk–althoufh Ive completed 2 of 4 so far, and have one that was abandoned close to the end becaue it didn’t make it–that one definitely going back to finish since its close.
