#ONC2023

Yeah.

That makes sense. Thanks for the feedback.

The King’s Three Sons is submitted at 20510 words for round 2. One down, three to go.

I’m not going to look at this one again (other than comments) until it’s time to submit it. It’s well set for writing a second part to it, much later, without having to add things to the front half, but if I never do, it’s got an epilogue for the last 1K, which explains some of what I want to do with the story. SHEEEEEE…

I still need to submit my two entries for round two too  I’m quite angry at myself because I didn’t copy my previous answer on the question How are you utilizing this/these prompt?

I feel you on that. It would do me no good because my stories are all pantsed and that changes a little with each chapter added.

I just pansted my ass off for three hours and made the 8k deadline lol. I don’t care if this gets through, I;m just happy that I made it.

Remind PASTRY to post it later, because I am passing out for an hour now  Nap time!

Same here! I pantsed my way through the stories

Enough changes that there’s a better way to write that tidbit, sometimes.

I have been spacing out and reading instead of editing since i have finished Played by the Mafia. Hopefully, i can wrap up review i am writing today and can start working on efiting first 8K words before entering R2, which i hope to be the last onc task this year.

I ‘officially’ announced that i won’t enter The Tetrachromat into R2 and set it up as Camp NaNo project

Same. I’m pretty sure I wrote something a lot more interesting the first time around.

I feel you. I was proud on my first time writing it

Crunch time until April 3rd! I still have one chapter the needs re-writing because of the tenses. Gah. :weary: I’ll have enough words for round two though. Oy. Editing. Oy…

I don’t know how I feel about having picks about 2K reads AND knocking out half the list for the 2K reads.

Just don’t know about that at all.

I guess doing it this way gets some writers attention before we lose interest because it’s finished.

Yeah, knocking out these many entries early fizzles the interest early as well. But it’s bound to happen anyway, so… whatever.

I entered R2 with Played by the Mafia, so I am all done with the ONC.

Started editing Tetra and it’s fun, but no longer ONC-adjacent. So, I guess, it’s back to struggles thread so Q doesn’t feel lonely there…

Instead of working on the current ONC, I revised the first chapter of 2021 ONC. :joy: It was a good edit though so I’m happy.

I’m hoping camp nano will help me push through and finish it at last. Just a few chapters to go.

I reached the word count. I’m four chapters ahead of where I thought my round 2 entry ended, but yay? I’ve posted most of the chapters as drafts on WP, but still need to edit the last 2 chapters before I publish them all. THEN April is poetry month. This month was really tough for me mentally/energy wise. As much as it pains me, I might have to skip poetry month even though some of my best work had come from it last year. (sigh) :disappointed: On the bright side, I’m excited about potentially finishing this novelette for ONC as it’ll be the second original story I finished a first draft for and in like a third of the time. :crossed_fingers:

So, I got A Riding Need edited through the 8K to be at the level I’m willing to risk in this stricter judging. 2 more to go, with days left. Lmao

I submitted for round 2! Even after deciding last night that I wanted to completely re-write the last chapter for the round and it ended up being split into two chapters. :scream:  I kept getting sucked into editing, but I figure if I don’t submit now, over the weekend, I’ll forget and miss the deadline. So YOLO! :crossed_fingers:

All 4 are now ready. 3 have to be entered. Trying to deal with that now.

Edit: all 4 entered.
