Out of Context! What happened in your story the last you worked on it?

I dunno. I think Yocha and Mari had a discussion about how Mari is no longer a regular mortal, but more on the spectrum between existence and nothingness. Then Yocha asked him to stab a bunch of priests so they could blame it on a minority religious sect and start a war. I think.

Wait what do my scene notes say.

Yuh

Scene 15:

In a clandestine meeting in a secluded alley, Yocha reveals to Mari her plan to incite a war between the factions of Yorymh and Arymh. She proposes that Mari execute high-ranking Yorymh priests and frame Arymh for it, a proposition that leaves Mari conflicted and wary. Yocha manipulates Mari by reminding him that he is reliant on her support, but also assures him that she will protect him as he has become something different, something “otherworldly”. Despite Mari’s apprehension, he acknowledges Yocha’s proposal, though he does not overtly accept it. The meeting ends on an ominous note with Yocha’s departure, leaving Mari to grapple with his thoughts and the dangerous path that lies ahead.

Scene 16:

Mari and Yocha, situated in the Temple, observe a bustling crowd and arguing priests. Yocha, the manipulator, instructs Mari to carry out a mysterious task, promising him more opportunities and hinting at an imminent disaster. As an argument between two priests about the validity of the Arymh religion escalates, Yocha steps in, agreeing with an old woman’s outcry against their religious blasphemy.

Suddenly, Mari starts to kill the priests in cold blood, while the crowd remains oblivious to the unfolding violence. Yocha then cryptically commends Mari’s obedience and suggests a potential opportunity for them to escape their present reality and start anew, leaving a feeling of both unease and curiosity.

A summary of my latest chapter’s last scene…

Karen and Polanski investigate why Krista’s bedroom lights are on, even though the girls had gone to bed about half an hour ago. The women discover Dov had been reading Krista and Freyja bedtime stories from a hardback edition of illustrated Germanic tales. Dov reports (in whispers), although the girls fell asleep two stories ago, Freyja retained a cast-iron grip on Dov’s forearm. Dov couldn’t leave his chair for fear of waking Freyja. Karen and Polanski tuck a blanket around Dov and recommend he spends a night in the reading chair. A far better alternative to risking the girls’ rest.

MiniMoo edit, somewhere in 18…

dragging your almost boyfriend to the wrong church services

“What is the next part like?” Vance leaned over to quietly ask Anise.

“A lot more interactive and less singing. Not bad, usually, just depends on if you like learning a bit about the subject.” Anise answered like she wasn’t even really listening while looking at the crowd around Mr. Leighton.

In years to come, Vance would wish he had pulled out his phone and recorded the class.

Not because it was great, moved him, changed his life–nothing like that.

It’s because his perception of church folk changed–went kind of sideways.

Scarcely had I left them
When I found him whom my soul loves;
I held on to him and would not let him go
Until I had brought him to my mother’s house,
And into the room of her who conceived me.
Song of Solomon 3:4

“Folks, I’m going to try my best to not embarrass the missus, but when a calling hits you, you must go where it does, and unfortunately for me, it’s in a time where we’ve lost the culture war, and our kids leave us because we’ve added way too much of our opinions to right and wrong.”

At first Anise’s jaw dropped open, realizing that this was going to be a congregational sex talk. She had a draining of color from her face, then a full flush–she turned to hide her face against Vance’s shoulder before she finished turning red.

Yes, I have sat through sermons and classes on these subjects since I was a teen through having babies. I am well used to it. So, watching a character squirm is fun.

Amneris being a klutz is what last happened XD

Before she knew what was happening, Colt had leaned down and kissed her. It was quick, no more than a few seconds. He pulled away before Amneris’ brain could catch up with what had happened.

It was only then that Colt dropped her hands and made his way back to the door. “I will see you downstairs.”

“Yep,” Amneris squeaked.

The door was closed. Amneris turned around, not sure what she was going to do, only to run straight into the corner of her bed. She let out a quick, undignified scream as she fell to the floor, having tripped over the frame.

As she lay on the ground, Amneris muttered to herself, “Oh, I hate that guy.”

Honestly, I shouldn’t write after 8pm. Weird things happen :joy:

Main villain + monsters ambushed the cast at the temple, it got bad enough that Mister Green left the task of completing a certain magic orb to the twins to hopefully stop the main villain.

Last I wrote the twins & Ari were flying to another mountain peak containing the Sky Pillars (think Spear Pillar at Mount Coronet from Pokemon), where the final orb shard is. They aren’t happy about their situation, to say the least.

Weird things make the story unique and memorable. It should be done more often. In the years I read roughly 200 books or more that year–which ones do you think I remembered and picked up to reread again?

And I’d remember a character with that kind of reaction.

Current Edit, Mini Moo:

Vance is sore after football practice, and Anise is going to give a chaste backrub in her parent's home. Problem is they are way too keyed up on each other, mwahahahaha!

Anise brought Vance to the laundry room so he could prep his shoulder pads and helmet for proper venting before dragging him out to the den–furthest room from the kitchen. Her mouth was a little dry as she began to boss him around again. “Take off your shirt and get comfortable on your stomach.”

Vance–a typical shameless male–deliberately took his top off and came a step closer to the one he desperately wanted. It’s true that muscles ripple when in motion, reminding her of the Marine Corps Memorial on a windswept day. The soon setting sun gave everything the right angle of lighting, adding depth to the long-faded summer tan.

“Holy hell, where’s the whipped cream?” Her eyes were huge with more than surprise.

“You want to lick it off me?” Vance never had a doubt about how he looked, in spite of how flighty girls had been in the past, but even then, he’d never had this reaction out of anyone. He suspected that the look she wore on her face was akin to what he wore when he went to a buffet.

“I don’t even like whipped cream.” Anise swallowed. How the hell did I go from desert mouth to a lake? “Just something like this deserves some effort…I thought that was supposed to only be a six-pack.”

“You should see it when I strip off those last few pounds after the season.” Vance knew the lighting favored him. Not that he carried much fat at all, but any bit of it softened the lines, making rabid pumping and a severe diet necessary to really show off what he had. “We do it to mark off what muscles we’ve not been working as much, although what the muscles do is more important than how they look.”

“No, this is fine, I don’t need to see you wholly ripped. I’ll just see this moment any time I look at you, anyway.” It was an effort to tear her eyes away from the expanse, but she wanted to look him in the eyes, at this moment. It surprised her. All the eye candy she could wish for, and she cared more for the connection with him. She searched his face until she was sure that there wasn’t anything hiding behind the smirk he wore when he was acting up. Nothing of the brittleness he sometimes held showed through. This was whole, wholesome, unabashedly male–happy to be here and dish this view up just for her.

It was not a safe place to be, with parents around. Anise blinked, then struggled to get back to the task at hand. “Well, lay down. I’m not touching your front.”

What kind? What do you mean by strange?

Last time I did that, it went kind of disturbing…lmao It was also a hedonistic god with snail-like movements. “Absolutely nothing happened”, but the behavior was so disturbing that I killed the character off a bit quickly.
