Some editing and tinkering with early chapters, and updating my current chapter draft.
Changed the afternoon swimming pool rescue scene. The pool at Karen’s villa doubles as a recreational pool and a diving / SCUBA training pool. The shallow end is 3.5 meters, and the deep end is eight meters. Recent research hints that most divers experience neutral or negative buoyancy at ten to twelve meters (the water pressure cancels the buoyancy of your lungs and body composition), so eight meters is justifiable danger territory for inexperienced divers…None of Karen’s mercenaries dive alone regardless…
When Dov rescues a cramped up Krista from the floor of the pool’s deep end, Dov realises Krista’s out of air and close to passing out (drowning). So Dov does some improvised underwater CPR, moving air from his lungs to Krista’s,* and races back to the surface with a barely conscious Krista held at arms’ length by his stomach.** Freyja, sitting by the pool’s edge, might act as a homing beacon, plunging her head into the water with her emerald eyes (glowing neon green***) peering into the shadowy depths searching for Dov. And Dov’s vision greys out just below the surface, his blood is out of oxygen so his momentum does the rest.**
*CPR works because the air you breath out is 10% to 12% oxygen. For Krista, 10% oxygen in her lungs is better than nothing.
**Krista later comments that Dov’s legs beating through the water sounded like a ship’s giant propeller, trying to suck her in.

Eliza is in denial that she’s dead as she digs herself out of her own grave. And is very much in denial that she’s in another world, because its way more plausible someone just randomly buried her in the woods in central New York.
