My support partner/buddy name Grace gave me this.
Time to eat…one.
Happy Birthday! It’s mine on Saturday!
Thank you!
Happy early birthday!
Thank you!
I hope you’re enjoying your day!
Thanks.
I will enjoy Saturday more because I am spending time with my mom and aunt, yet today was a good calming outing.
Beautiful! But you’ll have to eat one every day.
LOL! Yeah, true!
Retaking my love for world-building, writing, and storytelling solely for my own entertainment back, to make it known that I want a hobby, not a career as an author…EVER.
@Akje @NotARussianBot @Churro @J.L.O: I have to be honest, I was never truly honest when I needed to be.
Absolutely nothing wrong with being a hobby writer! Nothing wrong with changing your mind, either. Twenty years from now you could change your mind again and decide to query a literary agent then. The options are always there, and there are no wrong choices in this. (*^-‘) 乃
Her opinion is perfectly valid, but personally I love retellings, most of them. Madeline Miller, for one, has a master’s degree in the ancient classics, and re-imagines the Greek myths in very inventive ways. The ancient writers also rewrote those stories and produced variations on them, so I see no reason why modern writers can’t do the same. But I can definitely see why readers are getting sick of them, or never liked them in the first place. They’re everywhere these days! (=^ェ^=)
@Churro @Qualeshia12 Happy b-day and pre-birthday! (੭ˊᵕˋ)੭‧˚₊・*̥✧
Thanks
I am going about in the wrong way though. I’m mentally fantasizing over becoming a successful author in dire need of gratification without actually putting myself out there because I burnout and stress of doing so. I want to be rich more than famous for writing and even thinking like that is stressful, when I realize doing a balancing act.
I am overwhelmed and overthinking myself as a wriiter who just wants to write more and read less. Which is why I stress out even more, I hate reading physical novels. I would rather listen to an audiobook or do both read the physical copy while listen to the audio version. I am not consistent as both and reader, my AuDHD reminds of that everyday.
Do I actually want to become an author or do I love the glamorous life of being a successful author?
Which is more important to me? I need a reality check badly.
Oooh, what about using a pseudonym? You don’t have to put your real name on a book in order to get rich. Stephen King used the name Richard Bachman for years.
Actually, I’m thinking of coming up with a pseudonym for my current WIP, to separate that book series from all my previous books since they’re totally different. I just have to think of a good mononym to keep the number of words on the book cover to a minimum. One name’s enough. (>‿◠)
I already have that in mind.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BUDDY!!!
Happy birthday to my favorite type of fried dough!
So this year has been a flop creativity/ writing-wise. I’ve passed up a lot of opportunities — magazine submissions, readings, a poet residency, a film that just won an award.
But I’ll hard launch my writing/creative career next year. Like seriously it’s gotta be done. Can’t keep calling myself a writer with nothing to show for it.
