Did you get my reply in our DM? It doesnāt seem to be posting for meeee! When I hit the send button, nothing happens. And it wonāt let me press Enter and send it that way either, so Iām wondering if you can see it. Argh. But I replied to your question with this:
Iām fine, but full! Ate too much dessert today for Thanksgiving. But it was pecan pie, and I truly canāt resist. (Ėį“Ėį¦)
I have a persistent cough from a cold Iām mostly over, and when I googled āpersistent cough after coldā, the generative AI told me itās normal for the most part, and it made me somewhat jokingly think this was the first time someone looked up their symptoms online and actually felt relieved by what they read.
Iāve had a couple of colds that left me coughing for weeks afterward, so youāre not the only one. Man, I hated thatā¦your chest and stomach start to hurt after awhile from too much coughing. Unfortunately, cough syrup and cough drops donāt work for me, and Iāve never found anything that does. Maybe if you have insurance you could get something by prescriptionā¦? Or try good old tea & honey. Good luck! ( -.-)\(^ā”^ )
I want to be published before the age 68.
I am 33 years old now. Is that a weird deadline to set for myself?
Genuinely curious to know.
I have a weakness for colorful & bizarre animation, it seems
(Great movie btw! I also watched the original series before it came out and itās equally stunning with the visuals)
I forgot what is that anime called.
Update: I was right, itās Mononoke.
Yes, Wattpad I will enjoy these stories from random fandoms Iāve never even touched, or heard of before. Thank you with a sprinkling of random hood and vampire books for good measure.
AI translation sucks. Iād rather have done it myself, professorā¦but oh well
It is!
Shouldnāt take you that long! Every day I discover yet another writer I love has autism and/or ADHD. Today I found out TJ Klune has ADHD and is asexual, which I suppose explains why his romances arenāt very romantic. But I love his books, the three Iāve read, and I have another one on my wish list.
I bet youāll publish long before 68, but of course it doesnāt matter when you publish. There are no deadlines, really. (=^ļ½Ŗ^=)
He wrote the novel The House in the Cerulean Sea?
I know, I just want to give myself a deadline to get my life into motion. If nothing happens, then I turn that age, then I DONāT want to pursue it after that.
Sorry, I know people will say donāt let old age stop you from obtaining a dream. If I donāt do it before that age, the dream of publishing and becoming an author just dies. If I couldnāt obtain it before that, then I never will.
Go for it!
I personally donāt think I wanna get published lol. Not in trade fiction anyway. I spoke to a publisher the other day and it sounds like hell. They told me about the product analysis, economics and marketing stuff that happens behind the scenesā¦ and Iāve gotten really jaded by it all. I donāt want my work ripped up and weighed against feasibility models. Itās all about the āproductā and not really about the quality/ creativity of the work.
Not that quality doesnāt matter. They use the MAYA principle to determine whatās publishable. I guess Iām too bohemian to sell out to the capitalist machine or whatever. Besides, only like 8% of books published find actual success. And if you happen to be a bestseller smash-hit, then youāre under deadlines and franchising and a huge responsibility to keep the publisher afloat. Like Richard Osman, Sarah J Maas and Sally Rooney are literally keeping people fed these days.
Getting published is fun and all, but I donāt wanna know what happens next. But hey one thing at a time.
Iām going to rewrite Electric Tacos and do Igor and Spider and Pucho. Iāve decided so I hope people actually read it. Please
Yup! I also read Under the Whispering Door and In the Lives of Puppets, which is sort of a Pinocchio retelling with robots. I love all his books so far.
Ah, okay.
I was thinking about if there would ever be a happy medium in publishing.
I am torn about it and I am not even there yet.
