congratulations on the votes and getting closer to the finale!
Night Queen’s Outline has been finished.
I was bad yesterday, working on one of those chapter 1’s I have for potential projects to show Nick in his Discord workshop. But I will focus on Lone Werewolf, I swear!
I just shoved a book at him XD I just want to see what he’ll say and if there might be anything to take away from it in general.
Yes, me as well. I always take his comments to heart. They are useful.
Unpopular opinion: I hate monkeys.
Come at me.
Why? Do you only like apes?
Probably because I was practically s*xually assaulted by a monkey when I was about eight years old.
I do prefer apes, though “like” is a strong word
Fair reason to hate them
I’ve written 4,000 words this week on my new book. The concept is really starting to come together now, and I’m getting invested. I’m hoping I can keep this momentum going through the end of the year, and get a solid start made for it before uni picks up in January.
TigerWriter indirectly inspired me to try writing from a challenging main point of view, and it’s honestly getting really fun. This character seems so personal and funny, but also great fodder for building drama and conflict later on in the story, and is just soo different from any other MC I’ve written. It’s so interesting seeing where he takes the story and how he interacts with different people.
My best writing friend told me it was her favorite of my main characters
and her comments have made me feel much more confident in this story than I was when I first started it. When I started, I was like yeah this isn’t going to get completed, it won’t go on Wattpad, but now I’m thinking about possibly uploading it when I get far enough through it to update regularly.
I feel like I always get this way when I start a new book (all excited, it’s my best, it’s so fun, blah blah blah), and then I hit a snag in the middle, and then push through the ending and just want to scrap the entire thing and rewrite it. Buut I’m trying not to be that way and learn how to be more forgiving when I write and do revisions. It just has to be better, not perfect. I improved that mindset a lot with my last book, so I’m hoping I can improve even further with this one.
So yeah, that’s my rant. Lol. It was a long one. Sorry about that.
I am totally doing Latina Baker goes to Spooky Town concept. I’ll at least make a blurb and character designs.
That’s a familiar feeling
Hope you will enjoy the book till the end. The books that write in one breath are lots of fun.
I finished the chapter. Feeling too sleepy to edit and post it, so leaving it till tomorrow. It’s a day off and there is no skating competitions, and it’s too cold to ski, so I am planning on gaming and writing.
I should start charging for advice…
Hey, anyone want to hire me? I’ve got opinions.
what type of advice would you specialize in?
Writing stuff.
Sometimes I forget how much I’ve learned until I start talking to people that haven’t gotten lost down as many rabbit holes of writing wisdom as I have. But then I encounter a new writer and I’m like, hey that used to be me. I feel old in writer’s age, lol. And it’s a bit silly because it hasn’t been that long but I go a bit crazy on my quest for knowledge. I’m a story writing nerd.
I’ve thought if I ever wanted to pursue becoming an editor. Some things are appealing about it, I love taking stories apart and fixing them, but the problem would be to remain motivated even if I don’t like the story (or the writer).
So I don’t know if I will ever pursue that road. Might just stick to writing my own stories.
Being an editor is kinda cool. But on another hand, I can’t figure out how to write books that are a hit with the audience, so I don’t feel that I can edit someone’s work to become more successful.
And… yay! Rounded off and edited the chapter, so I am again facing the white page. Better go read all my notes for the next scene, because I had a lot. Plus, some more recent unrecorded ideas on how to make it shorter and make a bit more sense, make drama fresher, instead of retracing some of the steps. I need it to appear like LI can credibly dump my protagonist at this point.
My book is ranked #68 out of like 55.3k in “crime” today. AHHH I’m hoping it brings in more readers, these tags seem to be doing me well of late. fingers crossed
Good luck! Yeah, tags had been more mobile in the last couple of weeks for me too, but stagnating again.
Okidockie. I am done with reviewing my notes, I did the chapter intro, so I think I have a clear idea how I want to handle my finale. I don’t think it’s 5 point one, more like 3-point one, but my body is ready to finish this thing. I hope I can handle it in 3-4 chapters and a small snapshot of an epilogue.
Congrats!
and good luck!
My book hasn’t gotten a single read since I marked it complete over a week ago now lol. I’m sad but not surprised x’D
Kinda moving on from that project now. I’ll probably return to revising it once I get stuck enough on my current project lol. Right now I’m just trying to come up with names. There’s so much naming to do at the beginning of books, and it’s what I’m the worst at
