LMAO I know right it’s just an endless task. I never thought I’d enjoy editing because I usually find it tedious XD
It’s not always a good thing. You relate to more people if you’re on the easier side.
If I meet someone who is very uncomplicated but builds very complex world, all I’m thinking is, now THERE is someone who lives inside their head.
I’d still go nuts trying to write something too simple. Lmao
Is that how the world sees him?
Depends on who, but you know the nosey types that haven’t raised kids? Yeah, your worst fears right there. I just look at them and say, “You don’t know what you’re asking for.”
Took my dad until he was 60+ to admit to ADHD. One thing I know from his childhood is that he sat still for class only after the coach ran his little backside for miles. So, possibly something like cross-country would help yours get rid of excess energy?
My six year old is pure madness when I pick her up from school. Pent up mess.
I know what you mean.
I didn’t realize there was anything up with my son at first. Only when he went to kindergarten in a very strict school and the teacher started complaining (I’d get notes from her every day!) and I saw a comparison of how he acted vs other kids that I noticed that there was something to it.
He got basically kicked out of that school but he’s doing well in a public school.
It’s very easy to excuse ADHD as nothing because it’s a behavior all kids do. The difference is in intensity (back then, my son scored maximum on all ADHD scores, lol).
But now, he’s just a very active kid that needs to keep himself busy. He’s very intelligent and does well in most subjects though he’s not all A’s. Organization is his enemy. Active body and active mind is how I’d describe him.
So, possibly something like cross-country would help yours get rid of excess energy?
He’s been doing Taekwondo since 7 year old, that definitely gave him an outlet. Now he’s finally old enough to use a gym and he’s very excited about the prospect of being even more fit.
I got him a membership in the local community center, he’s got his gang of friends to hang out and work out with. For some reason, I find this early teenage phase adorable.
Yeah, they are often super excited about things, still.
But I’m ADD. No H to it now that I’m 40, but that was there as a kid.
Oldest girl is ADHD and the other two are not. It’s very interesting to see the difference between a boy and an ADHD girl. Boy is physical and destructive but not particularly hyper about it. Middle girl is lazy. Eldest isn’t destructive, per se (although she can be), but the hyper…
I have begun the editing. Wish me luck.
Good luck! There are a lot of us in the same predicament.
So, I finally finished chapter 26, and actually peeked at how many I have that I didn’t paste into the manuscript. 35 more. But very few of them need changes in scenes, so I can just copy paste them after I reach the next chapter that needs serious changes, then start from the top with line edits.
GOOD LUCK sends food and drink YOULL BE FINE <3
I wrote one hundred and three thousand words as one huge chapter. Now I’m having to go through and chop it into chapter size pieces. Then there’s the grammar and punctuation that needs cleaned up. I also know there are a few scenes that need revised and improved. So this is going to be a while.
There are a lot of us in the same predicament.
I swear, it’s the biggest killer of novels.
Is there any good word count for chapter I should be using. Or is it just end the chapter at a natural pause?
I usually split any chapter over 3K words into 2 parts, because 1.5K-2K words is the sweet spot on Wattpad
I have 110K without 35 chapters posted into this draft from the old draft yet, a few scenes to correct in these 35 chapters, plus a few to correct in chapters prior to it, before doing line by line edit… I don’t even want to think about the final word count. Lol, ONC can’t come soon enough to give me an excuse to run away!
Off Topic: I have a headache and I still feel a bit tired.
On Topic: I feel like I want to merge what I want to write in both chapters 2 and 3 to form one chapter.
And what, it’s usually double that for science fiction?
Not really?
I am back! After resting in the darkness of my room, I feel much better.
Now, I am munching on potato chips. Teehee!
I might actually start chapter 3 then go right back to chapter 2.
Oh, boy. Full club reads load this week.
I actually posted edited version of the previous chapter, because I think it is objectively better.
Oh, nooooooo… noooooo… noooooo
In the latest twist of Mozalev on Ice, the only veteran skater in Russian team, Mikhail Kolayda, had to withdraw due to Covid.
Since Mozalev and his archrival, Semenenko, traded places as main team and first alt, they will meet for the third duel this season, this time on the Olympic ice.
And here I was hoping Mozalev will have one competition where he can just focus on showing his mastery/artistry. Russian team now enters Olympics with three 18 yo men for whom this is pretty much their first senior season, two of whom only skated 2 international senior competitions prior to the Olympics.
Bless their hearts, and I need to restock on Zen tea. How I am supposed to write?
