sorry boss, notebook’s occupied, no can do write today.

I am starting to hate the whole “talking strictly about my story and nothing else” writing vlogs that Authortubers do. Like it nice and great, but come on, do something along with telling people about your stories, progress, and more. Yes, they do live-streams writing sprints, collab with other Authortubers, and stuff like that, but seriously when it comes to the writing vlogs with, some it is constant talking, writing related updates and progress which is STILL TALKING. They’ll have like one or two minute long clip of them writing or getting started on writing. Yet they will NOT show any more than that. It is just constant talking for over ten or twenty minutes.
A healthy balance. All I am asking for is a healthy balance of an AuthorTubers talking about their stories/progress/etc ALONG with them actually writing on their laptop or desktop or even by hand if they wanted to.
Kate Cavanaugh does a healthy balance.
Ana Neu does a healthy balance.
Sincerely, Vee does a healthy balance.
Sarah Mae Sutton does a healthy balance.
Even Abbie Emmons does it in a sense with her “Write With Me Livestreams”.
Does this tactic seriously not work for EVERY authortuber?
Not everyone wants to hear about you rant and rave only about your novels and whatnot. Either show the audience that you’re actually working on it AND other things too ALONG with discussing it, or my time can’t be wasted.
I am yet not sorry for feeling this way! It’s starting to irk me bit by bit.
Rant Over.
why don’t you try making your own videos, if you hate the ones everyone else makes so much.
Right now, I can’t do it.
I can come up with a million excuses on why, but the answers are painfully obvious to me at least.
Lack of confidence, boring lifestyle, and terrible mental state.
I’ll put it into consideration…someday…maybe.
well, stepping a little outside your comfort zone by trying something like making those videos could help with all of those things ![]()
you can do this without showing your face! I have a faceless + voiceless writertok, and I see lots of other people who do faceless mini-writervlogs. You just angle the camera to only be on your hands. And if you want to say something and are too shy to use your real voice you can use text-to-voice, or voice changers.
It doesn’t have to be long videos either. You can start with little 3 or 5 minute ones and see if you like it.
Ah, that makes sense. I just have to learn how to edit videos from decent to great.
decent is fine! but editing and videomaking in general could be a fun hobby ![]()
I hate those too! I’m there to see what you the YouTuber can do for me, not what I can do for you. I’ve got to hand it to them, though. They get paid by Google just for jabbering about their own stories endlessly. Must be nice! It amazes me that viewers actually like watching those, although I suppose it doesn’t hurt that most of those kind of YouTubers are attractive. ¯\_(ﭢ)_/¯
This makes a world of sense!
LOL!
True.
Seriously, what is a good or even great app or website for editing videos?
THAT IS COMPLETELY FREE AND GOOD TO USE!!!
hm, for tiktok (and the occasional school assignment) I use capcut. It’s free and super easy to use on your phone. I’ve never tried to make youtube videos before but I’ve heard iMovie works well
I had CapCut, but I was stupid on how to edit vids. I honestly wanted to do just as great as everyone else…for my first time.
Also, I have options far as my laptop, desktop, phone, or tablet to use.
I use an Android and PC.
Probably why I love Shadiversity so much. Dude does talk about his work, but he’s ot a passion for the medieval so you learn a ton of shit.
