Yup. They scream along :joy: there’s lots of dancing too. If you saw me during a concert you wouldn’t recognize me

Oh, that’s so annoying. I thought that only happens in developing countries like where I come from. Anyway, hope the performance made up for it :joy:

I know right? :joy: imagine getting squeezed in between two strangers and they both hog the armrests.

Haha! Sounds kind of fun. You can’t hear other people around you sing, though, right? The noise covers it? Hehe yeah, I suspect as much. xD I’ve only been to those youth camps that have noisy and upbeat songs that everyone dances to, but we were all crazed by it. :joy:

Eh nope, people are the same everywhere :joy: It did! The pianist was great. Some interpretations weren’t exactly up to my standards, but most were good. He played your favourite waltz, too. :suggestive:

:confounded: Suffocation at its worst.

(Oh! Also, we finally bought the tickets to the quarterfinals matches!!! I’m so excited!!!)

Oh you can hear them sing too :joy: they all blend, though not always in the most harmonious way

The only times I’ve danced in public were at concerts and school events, like prom or when we had to perform a dance for our games festival. Any other time, though, I’d be like “nah I’d rather save my energy and not embarrass myself” :joy:

Ah, there will always be people like that in the world.

Oooooh Waltz in C-sharp Minor Op. 64 No. 2?! That might be my favorite waltz from any composer, period. That’s also someone else’s favorite :smirk:

OMG OMG YOU BETTER POST ABOUT IT IN YOUR PERSONAL THREAD OR PM ME OR TAG ME HERE AHHH I’M JUST AS EXCITED AS YOU ARE OR MAYBE MORE

wait lemme look at the draw real quick to see who you might see

@FourcedowErsert here’s the draw:

OMG you’re so lucky, the quarters look tasty. Nadal-Schwartzman! Me, my dad, and my bro watched their match at RG and it was entertaining as hell, we were laughing and cheering nonstop :joy:

You might get Tsitsi or Karatsev vs FAA or Casper Ruud. Okay, solid.

OMG YOU MIGHT GET A MED-HUBI REMATCH :scream:

BWEH vs Monfils or Shapo is also a possibility.

Lucky :triumph: I better try to get tickets when I have the chance :joy:

Oh dear :eyes: I suppose I won’t ever be singing then, if I go to one of these :speak_no_evil: xD

I’ve only actually danced when we were playing Just Dance in a classroom or performing a dance routine. :joy: Unless you count joining those people-trains where they put their hands on the shoulders of the people in front and go around the room. What was your prom like? I don’t think I’ve ever had an actual prom. Anyways, I also rarely do any dancing in front of people. Or singing. Or…pretty much anything.

Yep. Haha, yes, it is amazing. by someone else, are you referring to your characters? :eyes: :smirk:

 How have I never seen you act this excited before?! But this is worth all of this excitement. I was ranting about this to all my old friends recently, and I have a feeling I have exhausted them of their patience. :joy: But YESSS, I WILLL!! I shall update you after we go. WE CAN BOTH BE EXCITED AHAHAHA!

Oh yes, I’ve peeked at the draw.

I knowww, I want to watch that too but I feel like it’s in the second session. There are 2 sessions for the quarterfinals and the ticket only includes one. We’re going to the first half, since everyone has already stolen the cheaper tickets in the second half, probably because they all want to watch this match :joy: My dad was like, Nadal is the only one worth watching :woman_facepalming: :joy:

Same for these :frowning: I wish I could watch though.
But waiiiit I did create an account on this smart TV they have in the Airbnb we’re in, and I got the Tennis TV app! So maybe I can just watch from there. :stuck_out_tongue:

:awesome: :awesome: HEHEHEHE SO EXCITING!!! xD

Yes, you should! Ahhhhh, I can’t believe I’m actually going!! :scream: This is unreal.

Oooh Just Dance. I remember when our school was holding a contest where each class had to sell a product or service. Our class offered Just Dance, and people had to pay. The winner got a BTS album. I participated without paying because I was a member of that class :joy: oh and the last time we did that people train was in fourth grade, after we cleaned up the classroom

Oh for our tenth grade prom, they did it differently. Before us they would make everyone pair up and do this ballroom dance. Luckily they didn’t do it for my batch. It was also a combined prom so all three campuses showed up. So we rented a ballroom at a five-star hotel near where I live and they hired a professional DJ from Japan to play music for us. First was our “catwalk” where we would have to walk down the stage, but not everyone joined. Then we had to vote online for our prom king and queen. They did it via the number of likes an Instagram post got. It was rigged because the prom king’s mom and sister asked their families and people from other schools to vote. My mom and bro have the proof because they’re part of the same group chats :joy: I didn’t say anything though. They were all shocked when he won. They said the second-place couple did the same thing. All I remember was eating, then dancing—but like upbeat party dancing, not the slow couple dancing—and taking photos at the photo booth. We were supposed to have it again during twelfth grade but, you know, pandemic. They offered us a virtual prom and all of us were like “no” :joy:

Who else? :smirk: You know the two of them very well, especially the boy :joy:

I only become excited when the subject really interests me. Tennis is one of them. Why else would I have an entire section of the table of contents dedicated to the sport?

HAHAHA YES AND WE CAN BOTH CHEER FOR OUR FAVORITES TOGETHER OR AGAINST THE ONES WHO BEAT THEM :joy:

Ah, of course, the only Big Three there. You know he dropped to World No. 4? I mean, yikes. But Rafa is Rafa. He has 20 GS and is just one slam away from a record. What about your dad’s thoughts on the other players? Who’s his favorite?

Ooooh nice. I’m just relying on free streams :joy: if ever I’ll pay to see a tennis match, it’ll be for a seat. Good thing you got Tennis TV, because they have all the ATP tournaments, from 250s to Masters 1000s (and ATP Finals too if I remember correctly). They don’t cover the WTA, though.

I KNOW RIGHT? XD

What would I not give to be in your position :joy: but anyway, I still have a few more years before I finish my degree in the US. Maybe I’ll be able to catch a match while I’m there. Hopefully.

That’s cool  Just Dance is fun when you’re with the right people who don’t judge you. I used to be really hesitant and just stand and watch, but I tried it with some classmates and it was better than I imagined. Well that’s a while ago. :joy: In my most recent school, people did the train during the caroling at Christmas. I didn’t join, though.

Ah, nice! Good thing you didn’t have to do the couple pairing thing. That would be intimidating. But I do love the look of ballroom dancing, it would be cool to learn. So elegant. Maybe they could create a dancing robot I could pair up with. I must admit, I have no idea how to do upbeat party dancing. :joy: The only dance I’ve learned is Footloose, which is a line dance. :stuck_out_tongue: That one is fun. And ooh yes, the photo booth is always the highlight. xD

Of course. :suggestive:

Indeed! When did you start getting into tennis? (You should definitely find more exciting subjects, I like seeing you get excited )

YESSSSS, THAT’S WHAT I’M TALKING ABOUT!! :fist: :fist: :joy: But seriously, it’s so hard finding someone who is at the same level of excitement that you can cheer with. My dad’s not that into it. But he at least knows how to root for sides in sports. xD If I could go to a match with somebody just as excited, I swear we would scream until our throats died

Yup. Waiiit, he did?? When? I thought he was still No. 3. Haha, true. Well, my dad’s not really into tennis, so I don’t think he has a strict favourite. He’s never heard of the younger generation though. He knows Federer and Nadal and Murray though. He was surprised when I told him Djokovic was No. 1 – he said the name sounded familiar but he didn’t know who he was. xD

Oh, the app is just on the TV though (not the paid version, I never pay for watching anything online – I don’t even have Netflix), so I won’t be able to use that once I leave. But it’s good for now. I’m jealous of those who have it free on their TV anytime. xD But where do you find those free streams? I tried and couldn’t find any.

You should secretly develop teleportation powers and pop in to watch. :joy: But I really hope you can watch one there, you deserve the treat!! :crossed_fingers:

I know right? It’s just so nice to look at.

Same here! I was just doing whatever because everyone else was doing whatever :joy:

I think I was five or younger? I don’t remember. What I remember is that I’ve always loved watching the sport but hated actually playing it  oh if only personal threads were a thing back in 2017. You’d see me babbling over how great Roger is, because 2017 was when he made his comeback, became the world’s oldest No. 1, and won two slams! (speaking of exciting subjects, my books excite me too, but I don’t think people get that easily excited. Still trying to draft BWT. Man, it’s violent  but I can’t wait to write it.)

Oh man can I just say I was so relieved when I realized you were as excited about the sport as I am? I was like “finally, a fellow tennis fan” :joy: I don’t know how I’d do if I ever get to watch a match live. I’d cheer like crazy, probably

Bruh, Murray’s like from an era so long ago. I miss the Big Four. I remember 2016 being his big year, winning the Olympics and becoming a World No. 1. I think he won Wimbledon that year too? He didn’t know Djokovic is No. 1? He’s been No. 1 since, idk, 2019? :joy: ah idk how he’ll react to the next gen. My dad says that they’re inconsistent and erratic sometimes, and they’re just not on the same level as the Big Three. But to be fair, no one else is at the same level as the Big Three :joy:

I’ll PM you a link :eyes: not sure if it works in Canada though

Thanks!

Hmm. Usually if I don’t know what I’m doing I just watch people doing whatever.

Whoaa, that’s amazing. No wonder you know so much now! I wish I had been introduced to it earlier. You hate playing it? Why? I’ve never actually played a game myself, haha. I only hit the ball around a bit and tried to keep it going, except I sucked at it >.> I kind of want to learn the actual playing.
(Oh yes, that is true. xD And I can’t wait to read it!)

Haha, it’s great to share a passion for something! xD When I first found out you were into tennis, I was so excited and eager about your posts because I wanted to learn more about it. If it wasn’t for my old friend, I wouldn’t have been steered in this direction. But yeah, I always feel like I want to cheer crazily but then my mind goes, what if no one else near me cheers and I’m the only one going wild? :eyes: They do cheer, though, don’t they…?

Yep! xD He only knows the more ancient ones. :joy: I mean, he never followed the sport in recent years so it’s not a surprise haha. That’s true. xD My dad was so surprised that they were still playing at their age.

Ooh thanks!

I don’t know that much; I consider myself not that devoted of a fan yet :joy: I only really started paying attention to tournaments outside of slams starting 2017 or later? Before that I was just interested in the slams.

Well…

  1. Lots of running. I hate running
  2. Serve. I can never serve the proper way without it going to the net or my side of the court. I can only serve by slightly tossing the ball up and hitting a forehand.
  3. Backhand. I used a two-handed backhand and it was crazy inconsistent. I tried a one-hander like Roger but my wrists hurt.
  4. Way harder than it looks. Seriously. I have a decent forehand but that’s pretty much it. And I played from when I was a small kid until fifth grade.

(I’m like halfway done with the first chapter, but I’m not sure if it’s good enough yet. I’ll post it to Wattpad as a teaser. I’m not sure if it will contain Edin doing something bloody or if it will be pushed to the next one. Oh, and because of the violence, it’s actually going to be rated mature )

Oh yes they do. I’ve seen it on TV :joy:

it’s always Roger who has the most people cheering for him. I remember the last time he faced Rafa in RG, I was shocked because the crowd cheered more loudly for Roger. I was like “Bruh, Rafa won like ten times or more and yet you’re cheering for his opponent?” :joy: Even when he faces a Brit at Wimbledon, the British crowd cheer for him more than they do for their countryman. I think Murray’s the exception? Idk, I don’t remember. That was such a long time ago.

Everyone’s surprised they’re still playing at their age. For about ten years or more there were already articles about their retirement. It got to the point where I think one of them was asked about it, and he was like “people have been saying that for years” :joy: it might be a false memory, though. But for real. When Roger and Rafa dipped in 2016 people thought they were gonna retire soon. How the tables turn :joy:

Okay, nope, I consider you an expert. You call this not that devoted?? :joy: Anyways, just by reading your thread, I can see that you know a lot. I don’t even know half as much as you do. xD

Ah yes, makes sense. I kind of like running, but only sprints. I hate long distance.

Oh, I’m terrible at serving :see_no_evil: If I toss the ball, most of the time, I miss. xD

Ooh. Personally, it feels more natural for me to use a one-handed backhand, compared to a forehand. Even if it hurts. xD

Now that is true. Couldn’t agree more.

Oooh. :eyes: I know it’ll be great, I read the blurb and I was in awe. But look at you now, advancing up the levels

Oh, good.

Oh wow. He sure is well-loved! I saw clips of different players all wishing him a happy birthday xD

:joy: Well, good for them! I admire that. It’s quite a feat. xD

Haha, maybe I am somewhat of an expert :joy: if you consider me one

I don’t know how these pros do it, especially the ones with great serves. First you have to have a consistent toss, and then to smash the ball with it landing in… it’s not easy :joy:

You feel it’s more natural compared to a forehand? That’s a first :joy: my forehand is the most natural one to me.

Aww, thanks for saying that it’ll be great! Not gonna lie, I think that’s the only good blurb I’ve written my whole life :joy: yeah, I was hoping that I wouldn’t have to mark it as mature, but then I wrote the scene and I was like “this is too bloody”

Oh yeah, his birthday! I saw the tennis channels upload special compilations to celebrate him turning 40. It was great

It is XD I doubt we’ll see anything like it after they’re gone.

@FourcedowErsert I asked the Dragonolist what his name is, and he revealed that it’s Arden. What a coincidence, I have a character named Arden albeit a female one :joy: Oh, and he’s teaching at Tenebris!

EDIT: Also, get ready for the first chapter of BWT. It should be coming to Wattpad sooner or later  also decided that the bloodshed will start in the second chapter. I don’t want it to have freakishly long chapters like in Book Two, so I moved the scene :joy:

Definitely

Exactly. It’s crazy. xD

Uh, yeah. I don’t know, the forehand just seems like kind of a weirder angle for me. :joy:

I’ve never written a good blurb in my life. :joy: Now you’re making me curious just how bloody you made it. :eyes:

Yeah. Now I’m kind of wanting them not to go. When do you think that might be?

(Also, question: is it just the first round that doesn’t have anybody cheering, or is it this tournament that’s weird? Because I watched part of a match and I heard the umpire shushing some people :flushed:)

Oh yes, I found out yesterday and I immediately thought back to your character. :joy:

Woohoo!! I shall be getting a taste of it soon. xD

Pfft, Caught in My Dreams has a decent blurb. None of my other stories do :joy: well, the first killing scene isn’t that gory, but as the book progresses… you’ll understand  it’ll get even worse in the sequels, especially thanks to Damon’s torture scenes

Ah, tennis etiquette. Let me explain.

So you’re allowed to cheer but only after the point has finished. Players need to concentrate to play, so any noise during serve and during the point can distract them. I remember one time in Wimbledon, someone was being noisy in the crowd and the rest of the crowd shushed that person :joy:

And you can’t cheer for too long after the point as well, because a player needs to serve (unless there’s a break after that) and a lot of players only begin serve when it’s quiet

Oh, and typically you don’t cheer after the player has made a fault. That’s considered rude to the other player.

Don’t expect much etiquette during the US Open, though. There’s a reason why it has a reputation for the worst crowd among the four slams

Yeah, wondering if I should change the character name :joy: but I don’t want to because, idk, it just “fits” her

You know technically you can because there’s an excerpt on Wacky :joy: except, a different part because it’s from a later chapter.

I’ve marked it as a teaser in the title because I don’t want to dedicate a lot of time to writing this fall semester. If I write, that means I’ll procrastinate on my studies, and I want less of that to happen

Really? Mm, I didn’t even recall what it was until I looked back at it again. :joy: Ohh. Man. Torture scenes. They’re okay in a book, but not in movies. They hurt too much in movies. xD

Ohh, yes, that makes sense. Although it seemed like there were barely any cheers after the points either. Probably because of the small number of people present. Maybe because it was only the first round. :joy:

Oh dear  So do they just let them be?

No, don’t change it, it’s good. (And that head student, Eris, also has a name starting with E :joy:)

Ah, right. I hardly use it though since there are too many platforms to keep up with  Each time I head online, there’s a flood of notifications. And I usually won’t be able to look through them all. xD But maybe I’ll take a look if I can.

sigh, true. I wanted to work on writing this summer but then things keep getting in the way. Didn’t think there would be that much to do here. I’m all drained after those are done.
