I’ll have to come back to this later since we’re about to go to the gym. But it’ll give me something to think about on the treadmill and stuff! ( ˆ◡ˆ)۶ ٩(˘◡˘ )
It’s good to talk about him because I don’t talk about Storm Heart, Fire Soul that much.
I like Kaiver because he’s just…he’s a good kid that went down a not-so-good path, and was brought up in a bad situation. He has a short temper and very low patience, but he’s actually got a big heart. After the death of his father, and after being exiled from the nomadic Human clan, he just wants family and a place to belong. No matter how much he denies it, that’s all he really wants. I just find that so sweet
Kaiver Mulvah is his name. Cool huh? He’s a thief. He used to belong to a nomadic Human clan tending to sand sheep, but they kicked him out after his father died.
“What did you say?” shoves a stabby thing in their face “Go on, say it again.”
Kaiver is generally quick to respond with his weapons and hold his ground, and he’ll hold a very long grudge unless the person can absolutely prove over and over, consistently, that they’re sorry or that they didn’t mean it It comes from his experience in the nomadic Human clan who were quick to turn on him, make him a criminal even though he did nothing wrong, and then kick him out.
Not at all. He’s not interested.
Kaiver is Human, but he does learn later that his mother (who died when he was really little) was a Sorcerer (although at this time there was no Sorcerer race, so she was just a magical Human). So, he’s half Sorcerer and does have a little magick, but he can’t do anything with it and doesn’t really affect him. The only thing is that one of his eyes glows blue sometimes (but that isn’t really because of his magick, but something more interesting ).
I was messing around with ArtBreeder one day, thinking about the name “Kaiver” as a potential name for a Human living in Ancient Elgana. Then, I created this guy and I thought, “This is Kaiver.”
Kaiver is very good at keeping level-headed. Not that he’s emotionally strong. He’s gotten used to bottling it all up, only releasing it when no one’s looking. Physically, I mean, he’s not that tall for a Human, but he makes up physical strength with stamina and being light on his feet, and being quick and sneaky.
Watch out for your shiny things
With anger and sneaky retaliation.
Kaiver doesn’t like to think about the past. He would rather wonder if he can steal a donut from a lifeship tomorrow. But Kaiver was close to both of his parents and was devastated when they died. He doesn’t form many bonds with others, but he does have a bipedal avian friend who can transform into a falcon and perch on his shoulder like:
Ah, Mordecai, the tragedy of the wealthy man…and a kind of pathetic antagonist
I like how far he falls from grace XD Literally, too
Mordecai Quad is the CEO of a trading company in Lwendolen. He’s rich and has power.
Depends on who it is. If it is someone from his own social circle, he would tremble with anger and calmly, coldly attack the person. If it is someone below his social circle, he would yell at them and maybe take something from them.
If it is someone higher than him, like the king or something, he would be “oh woe is me, the king HATES ME” and then drink himself into a stupor.
Mordecai is married to Georgina, but he’s not sure what love is between them anymore.
Mordecai is a plain-old human. The only bit of magick he’s touched is when he contacted a medium to get some sneaky business done onto his family that left horrible side effects which become the downfall of everyone.
Let me grab a quote, and you tell me.
Mordecai was a big man with a belly, but not morbidly obese. A thick mustache adorned his face which he combed every morning that at the end of the day lay flat as if someone had stuck fur on his lip. His mustache twitched as he glared down at his son thinking how pathetic of a boy he was. Mordecai could not understand why his son broke every rule while knowing there were painful, unavoidable consequences.
Incredibly weak despite how he comes off as. He’s a big coward who can only use his position to intimidate people. Strip that from him and he has nothing.
Manipulation (but he’s not very good at it). He also thinks he’s entitled to things and tries to get it by intimidation and abuse of power.
Mordecai loves himself, his status being of the upper class and cream of society, his car (he doesn’t use), and his alcohol. He hardly has a relationship with his wife. He dotes on his daughter but only because she’s engaged to a high-status man. And he hates his son more and more as the story goes on, seeing poor Henry as a failure.
What is it about your male MAIN character(s) that you like most of all in terms of personality, character, motivations, mannerisms, and anything else?
Zephe: I love his sob story. His parents doted on him until their murder when he was eleven, and he’s never gotten over their deaths. I love how he tries to remake himself afterward by changing his name to the last word his father ever said to him. I love that his parents were murdered by the father of his one true love, and that he inadvertently gets his revenge in the end by killing this murderer, although for a different reason. He kills him because that murderer was about to kill his one true love. ( ˘ ³˘) (˘ᴗ˘ღ)
Treymor: I love that he’s a bad boy who redeems himself: a selfish, useless libertine who initially believes that hedonism is the whole point of life until he chances upon a much more noble goal–to slay the current monarch and put the real heir on the throne.
What’s the main character’s name? What do they do for a living?
Zephe: crown prince
Treymor: his father will eventually buy him a captaincy in the Hussars
Someone tells your male character “you’re not a real man” how would they respond?
If that person wasn’t drunk or high on laudanum, the mcs would be honor bound to challenge him to a duel, either with swords or pistols
Is romance in life? Not at all? Maybe some day?
Oh, yes. This is the Georgian/Regency version of Song of Achilles after all
Do they use magic? Are they a humanoid species? Magical human? Just plain human?
Nope, no magic in this world, although there are ghosts. But the mcs are just normal boring humans
Is the character a visionary beauty? Average in looks? Plain yet unappealing?
Both are remarkedly attractive
How strong is this character(s) in terms of emotionally, physically, and/or mentally?
Physically as strong as anyone in those days: they’re competent swordsmen and equestrians, etc. But mentally they’re both pretty weak, actually, until the pressure’s on at the end.
How does your character(s) handle their societal norms in their world?
They’re both aristocrats, so initially they handle them exceedingly well. It’s when the king’s brother usurps the throne and tyrannizes the country that they start to have trouble navigating society.
What’s their home life and what parent or parental figure do they share a closer bond with?
Zephe: his doting parents until their deaths, and then his nanny raises him
Treymor: His mother’s a ghost and his father’s an alcoholic, so mostly his aunt and his older brother take care of him
He’s not quite as bad as the Marquis de Sade! He never throws little girls into a fireplace or anything. More like Lord Byron. Likes to drink a lot and fuck anything that moves. (>‿◠)
