In Revelation in Blood, I’m still trying to figure this out. So far they are just books with information on witchcraft, but regular information, nonetheless. But I want to add a hidden magical element to them. Something that makes them different from anoly other book, but has to be activated through magic first. I just haven’t figured out exactly what yet.
I’m toying with the idea of being able to write in one book and have it appear in a sister book so communication in secret is possible, but I’m worried that might be too predictable.

Hey, I have a possibly silly question to ask.
I am introducing a grimoire, but before that it was a historical ancient book.
The point is that tome is another way of saying book, and yet I go back and forth between that word and book.
It’s less easier now to say grimoire, but refer to it as tome in the pretend way, right?
Type this on my phone and can make better sense of it when I can.

in Enigma they’re ancient rippable scrolls which release eldrich horrors into the world :))) once the spell is ripped, it can’t be reused. it’s infused with magic while the person writes it and stored until ripped.

In Elgana, there are spell books that Sorcerers use. The most interesting one is the one of forbidden magick. This magick, of course, wasn’t always forbidden. Over the course of many years, some spells or potion recipes were put into it after the highest ranked Sorcerers and the leader decided some magick was much too powerful to be used anymore.
What it looks like is a great big book of everything 
(is anyone going to get this reference? I’ll risk it.)
